(AP) The College Boards

Advanced Placementcourses are college-

level classes in a widevariety of subjects thatyou can take while still inhigh school. They offeryou challenging coursework and a taste ofwhat college classes arelike.

Teachers and curriculummust be certified andapproved by AP

College in High School(CHS) CHS classes are in

partnership with localuniversities and allow

students to not onlyhave a taste ofchallenging courseworkbut to participate in anactual collegecurriculum in a variety ofsubjects that will bereflected on a college

transcript earned whilein high school.

Teachers and curriculummust meet thestandards of thepartnering institution.

Advanced Placement The North Hills School District strongly believesthat success in AP programs leads to successin college.

We wish to maximize all student opportunitiesfor earning college credit and AP Scholar

awards. To support these efforts, all students enrolled

in the AP courses are required to take the APexam for the subjects they are enrolled in.This is a course requirement.

To further support this program, the schooldistrict absorbs the test fee for each test andmanages the registration process for allstudents for the exams.

provide actual college curriculum Students can enroll and earn a grade on a

college transcript while in high school

In many cases, students may transfer these

credits to other post-secondary schools Fees average about $200 for up to 4 credits!
