What is SAT?Like American students, you must arrange to take the SAT in the last year of your secondary studies. The SAT is offered 6 times per year in Brussels (October, November, December, January, May and June). It is advisable to take the test as early as possible, so that test results can reach the university admissions officers before the application deadlines.

Begin your research at least 12 to 18 months prior to the academic year in which you hope to attend a college or university.

What is a form I-20A-B “Certificate of Eligibility”?The I 20A-B is sent to you by a U.S. institution that considers you qualified for a full course of study.

SOCIAL SECURITYFederal and state laws require that those who are studying in the United States maintain adequate health insurance. The costs of the medical and hospital services can differ appreciably from the costs in Luxembourg. It is advised to sign an additional health insurance.

Don’t forget: Invoices are paid off by the CNS following the rates and the Luxembourg price lists. To this end it is essen-tial that invoices are acquitted and detailed.

STUDENT JOBAs an international student in the United States, you’re allowed to work alongside your studies – 20 hours per week while school is in session and full time when school is out of session.

LIVING COSTS10.000 to 12.000 $ (per year). An average of 700 to 1.000 $ per month should be considered as safe.
