Most often used to measure the corrosion resistance of product coatings and paints, the salt

spray test can be adapted to high tech test systems to corrosively levels for environmental

simulation. 

Variations Include: 

NSS Test: A standardized 5% solution of NaCl, known as NSS. ASS Test: Neutral Salt Spray, Acetic acid known as ASS.  CASS Test: Acetic acid with copper chloride known as CASS.
