Help to Buy is a government-backed equity loan, introduced to help you buy your new home. The
scheme is open to first time buyers and for a limited period only (to 31 March 2021) existing homeowners too, on new build properties up to a maximum value
of £600,000.
To take advantage of the scheme, you will need to make a deposit payment of at least 5%. You may
then be eligible to receive an equity loan, interest free for the first five years, from the government of 20% of the purchase price of your new home. You
will then only need to secure a 75% mortgage.
