DREAM TEAM PLAYER OF THE YEAR Jaslyn Smith ALBION SENIOR Morgan Berry NAPOLEON SOPHOMORE Berry was third in the area in scoring (14.2) and third in rebounding (9.3) and shot an area-best 55 percent from the field to help the Pirates to an 18-5 record and Cascades Conference title. Ashley James NORTHWEST JUNIOR James scored a team-high 11.1 points a game, was fourth in the area with 9.2 rebounds and averaged 2.5 assists to help Northwest tie the school record with 20 wins and reach the regional final. Ashlende Teller JONESVILLE SENIOR Teller finished second in the area with 16.5 points a game. She shot 42 percent from the field and averaged 6.2 rebounds in leading Jonesville to a 16-7 record and a Class C district title. Jamie Wolvin MICHIGAN CENTER SENIOR Wolvin averaged 11.0 points a game for the 20-3 Cardinals. She was second in the area with 40 3-pointers, including a school-record-tying five in one game, and shot 43 percent from the field. Nicole Wurster HOMER SENIOR Wurster was the area scoring champ at 16.7 points a game. The do-everything guard was among the top six in the area in assists (4.4), steals (5.9) and free throw shooting (73 percent). Liz Hampton NAPOLEON COACH With just one returning starter and three letterwinners, the first-year coach directed Napoleon to an 18-5 record, the Cascades Conference championship and a spot in the district finals. Cierra Pryor Jackson Freshman Pryor’s eight-game run of 16.5 points a game late in the season boosted her to an average of 11.0 along with 6.8 rebounds and 2.6 steals, all team highs.
