Greetings,
Hello again! This coming week, we will be running a fundraiser where the proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society. We began announcing this fundraiser on Thursday morning. Basically, the students will have the option to wear a cap and/or shorts for the entire week provided that they pay $10 for the week. Caps only will cost them $5. Shorts only will cost them $5. The work that the American Cancer Society for our nation is phenomenal and they could use all of the money that they can get. Along with this fundraiser, our cheerleaders have been selling Pink Out shirts in support of Breast Cancer awareness. On Friday, October 24
th, we will
have a Pink out Pep Rally.
As always don’t hesitate to come in and check on your child anytime. We are here to serve our LPISD community and are here to ensure that our students are receiving the best education possible.
Please review the newsletter and mark your calendars with all of our up-coming events.
Go Bulldogs!

Physics with Coach Block This week in Physics the students have received new and challeng-ing tasks!! We began the week discovering the difference between distance and the displacement of objects. We then looked at veloci-ty and speed…there is a definite difference between the two. Once we gained those understandings, we introduced the wonderful world of math. The students learned how to calculate displacement with con-stant acceleration. This allowed them to solve equations for ini-tial velocity, final velocity and time, as well. Next, we will turn our attention to displacement with constant acceleration, given different variables. Using a similar equation we became proficient at solving for these, also!
We will continue to be challenged in physics! Keep talking to your
student to see what great things they have learned and are capa-
ble of!!

Chemistry with Coach Block
We are still learning the language and methods of science in Chemistry
this week. We began the week exploring SI units that we will use in or-
der of magnitude calculations and conversions into different units.
We, also, began to use several instruments for the purpose of measure.
The triple beam balance is the first tool we used. We measured weight
with this. We have also become proficient at measuring volume in sever-
al ways, as well.
Next, we moved on to calculations. We used one simple equation to solve
for the density, volume and mass of different samples. d= m/v. The stu-
dents have been attentive and forthcoming with their effort.
Continue to encourage your students…they are capable of greatness!!
Our job is only to facilitate their progress and successes!!
Coach Christian Block
