Community ISB enrolls approximately 1,650 students on its Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12 campus, located 25km north of downtown Bangkok. All academic courses, with the exception of those offered in the World Languages Department, are taught in English. The school is an open-enrollment independent school that prides itself on the diversity of its learners, of which, 60 percent are English second language learners. ISB is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

Many of our students carry multiple passports and have lived in multiple countries. Our high school teachers are equally diverse in geographic and national origin, bringing a wide range of perspectives and cultures to the classroom. Seventy-eight percent of our high school faculty members hold advanced degrees.

Course Offerings for the 2020-2021 Academic Year

ISB students may elect to pursue the International Baccalaureate Diploma and all students earn a North American high school diploma. In addition, all students complete the IB Component of CAS. One credit is earned for the satisfactory completion of a subject taken for the entire school year; a total of 25 credits are required for graduation. Students engage in various service projects during their time at ISB and participate in the school’s Global Citizenship Week (GCW) – an experiential learning and service program – each year.

Grading System, Calculation of Grade Point Average, Grade Distribution, and DisciplineISB uses a 7-6-5-4-3-2-1 grading scale to align with the International Baccalaureate Assessment and grading model. Below is a distribution of grades earned in core academic and IB coursework for the class of 2021 in the 2019-2020 academic year. ISB does not rank. Due to Covid-19, virtual learning commenced during Semester 2 on March 9, 2020 and continued through June 12, 2020
