VHP Cane Raw Sugar at the Mill
Considering that soon 80% of the saccharose produced worldwide will be from cane, Novasep has developed NAP microfiltration processes (New Applexion® Processes), which allows you to produce a higher quality sugar directly at your mill. Our cost-effective solution represents significant savings in capital and operating costs.
The NAP microfiltration of clarified cane juice, combined with both cane juice softening and crystallization enables you to produce “NAP sugar” or VHP cane raw sugar, without sulfitation:• 40% less color• 55% less ash• 20% higher crystallization speed
This sugar can easily be transformed into refined sugar directly at the mill or sold to refineries at a premium.
Microfiltered and soft cane juice can be concentrated in most efficient evaporators in order to reduce energy usage and to make more bagasse available for co-generation.

For cane sugar refineries, decolorization is one of the most critical steps. The objective is to remove color originating from:• Polyphenols, initially present in cane and caramel• Melanoidins• Products from hexose degradation, developed during the refinery process

High Quality Liquid Sugar for Local Markets
The industrial liquid sugar market has significantly developed over the last decade and thus requires optimized processing solutions. Three main production systems exist:a. Production of crystalline refined sugar at the refinery, with shipping
and dissolution to produce liquid sugar at the end-user factoryb. Production of liquid sugar at the refinery, using crystalline refined
