More Capabilities
The HTS900 engine is the latest engine
to join the Honeywell family of helicopter
engines dating back to 1950. The HTS900
incorporates numerous next generation
technologies developed by Honeywell.
The HTS900 can fill the OH-58D Kiowa
Warrior’s current transmission to
14K/+130 °F and allows the Kiowa
Warrior to obtain the original ARH program
6K/95 °F HOGE objective.
More Power
The HTS900 provides built-in power
growth, increased engine reliability,
reduced O&S costs, increased dash
speed and mission capability. These
features provide a 73% power increase
for the Kiowa Warrior. Engine torque is
controlled by the Dual Channel FADEC
and allows integration with the current
Kiowa Warrior transmission.
More Efficient
The HTS900 engine's next generation
technology includes a Dual Centrifugal
Compressor. The Dual Centrifugal
Compressor increases engine power
output, reduces engine specific fuel
consumption and provides for engine
growth with the same compressor
architecture.
More Savings
The HTS900 engine utilizes a Dual
Channel FADEC system with a manual
backup provision to ease pilot workload
and to facilitate engine maintenance
planning and troubleshooting. The
HTS900 engine is the only certified
engine that can be integrated into the
Kiowa Warrior starting today which
would allow the Kiowa Warrior to
obtain the original ARH program
6K/95 °F HOGE objective.
