High Level GoalsLong term goals (3-5 years)

– Improve the academic quality of the science and technology projects within the classroom in K12

– Promote a mentor system with the support of researchers, professionals and university students to assist students in the preparation of their projects.

– Strengthen capacities of technical teams in the 24 provinces

Short term goals (1-2 years)– Establish courses to increase the ability of teachers in developing

experimental methods.

– Promote interaction between teachers, students and researchers.

– Promote the use of scientific and technology experimentation in the schools.

– Provide incentives for children to continue studies of sciences and mathematics

– Improve scientific review and judging

Measuring Results

• Student participation in National Fairs to increase 50% in next three years

• Gradual insertion of science fair projects in curricular activities – 2400 schools involved in 2009 with participation of 500 scientists.

• Implement new National Science Fair Rules to ensure successful participation of students in international fairs

• Increase by 20% number of teachers and pre-service trained in implementing scientific projects

• Increase enrollment in scientific careers by 15% in next two years
