Dear Friends,

We are writing to let you know about how our plans are coming together for the High Holy Days, which are quickly approaching.

For thousands of years, the soulful sound of the shofar has called Jews to the synagogue to observe the most holy days of our calendar, Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.

But these days, we faced the possibility that the shofar would be silenced, as the doors of many synagogues, ours included, needed to be shut to protect your health and lives.

Despite this disruption, we at B’nai Torah knew we had to find some way to continue to bring the spirituality and traditions of the High Holy Days to a population as large and observant of tradition and spirituality as ours. We have to keep our community alive!

It was a challenge we decided to accept.

We are writing to announce a new and meaningful way to take part in these special days, to once again hear the call of the shofar even in the present crisis.

We call it Experience 5781 - Embracing a Changing World... Together. We will bring you and your families the soul-stirring prayer, commentary and learning and the beauti-fully performed liturgical music they would see and hear were they at B’nai Torah, only it will be in the safety and security of their homes, viewed on their computers.

We are offering the opportunity for you to sponsor this most meaningful Experience 5781. Your support will make both our pre-recorded and livestream services available to all who wish to participate. Sponsors will be thanked in services and on our website.
