I have seen my friends on facebook who remain offline but still I see that they comment or send sms,

and then there are others who just get irritated by pings from their friends on facebook chat but don’t

I have asked many people about this kind of behavior and they just say that they don’t want to talk to

particular group of people or remain offline to colleagues during office hours. But they don’t exactly

know how to do this, for them there is good news that facebook has already given a thought to this and

this facility of getting offline to a particular group of friends is available for long.

Step-1: Create a list of friends on facebook

For doing this first of all you should create a list of friends. I will show you how to do this.

1. Login to your facebook account > Click “Accounts” tab in the top right corner > Click on “Edit

Friends”

2. Click on “Create List” above search friends search box. Next a dialog box will appear where you

can enter list name and select the friends to include in that list. You can create lists with names

like school friends, college friends, colleagues or anything else which you like.

Step-2: Go to Chat and Restrict Friends from viewing your online status

1. Click on chat tab in the lower right corner and then click on small settings icon and then on limit

availability.

2. Next a dialog box will appear from where you can either select friend list to which you want to

appear online or select those to which you want to remain hidden.
