Project Management Overview

What is a project?

A temporary endeavor undertaken to accomplish specific goals or objectives

An activity with a defined beginning and ending

An activity that requires planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation

Management is critical

A project must be planned and managed to ensure successful completion

A project plan defines the process for project completion

The plan is specific to the projectThe plan is a tool to successfully

The student will select a clinical site field project in HIM may be a project selected from those

submitted to the HIA program may be a project of the student’s own
