A Little Introduction

Before we get started, I will tell you about me, and the main part. I am the brain, I have 4 lobes, a cerebellum, stem, and many parts.

Where am I?

I am located inside your head. The cranium protects me. If you knock on your head, you feel that your cranium is solid. That shows why I am protected.

Ahhh….. That’s nice……

First wayFirst, eat omega-3’s. Omega-3’s help function the brain properly so you can do everyday activities. Good examples of omega-3’s are: salmon, flaxseeds, walnuts, and mustard seeds.

Second waySecond, do activities that keep me sharp, such as: Sudoku, crossword puzzles, chess, checkers, and find the difference games. These are good games to keep me nice and healthy.

These are just two ways to keep me healthy.

Ouch! Hey stop!

First wayOne way that could harm me is smoking. Smoking causes brain shrinkage, which may lead to Alzheimer’s disease, the disease where there is memory loss.

Second wayAnother way that can harm me is sleep deprivation. Without sleep, I can’t rest. This leads to killing brain cells, which explains why some children are less focused and want to sleep if they stayed up late the night before.

These are a few ways (please don’t do them) that could harm me.

The part that helps me

The part that helps me is the nervous system. It sends messages to me from other body parts that need help. It’s like help that leads to help!

All About me

These are facts about me:

• I am the fattest organ in the human body.

• Reading aloud promotes my development.

• The left hemisphere of me controls the right side of the body, while the right hemisphere of me controls the left side of the body.

• Laughing at a joke uses five parts of me.

• There are 100,000 miles of blood vessels in me.

My lobes

I have lobes. They control body parts.

• The parietal lobe controls touch, temperature, pressure, and pain.

• The frontal lobe controls reasoning, planning, parts of speech, movement, emotions, and problem-solving.

• The temporal lobe controls hearing and memory.

• The occipital lobe controls vision.

Thank you!

Thank you for learning and I hope you go and use those brain cells full of information now! Watch your brains! Bye!
