Watford takes first steps to be dementia-friendly The Mayor of Watford hosted a public meeting on 12 October to invite people affected by dementia to say what would make a difference for them in the town. Turnout was fantastic and planning will start soon, showing just how much people do care about making our communities dementia-friendly.

Half of women 'will develop dementia or Parkinson's or have a stroke' A third of men and one in two women aged 45 now will develop dementia or Parkinson’s or have a stroke within their lifetime say researchers from University Medical Centre, Rotterdam in the Nederlands. Caring for carers: Research highlight Alzheimer’s Society was founded nearly 40 years ago by a small group of passionate and determined carers. Since then the Society has grown, reaching more people affected by dementia than ever before and funding a wide variety of biomedical and care based research projects.
