Hey Brother Knights,

As I write this short article, I see snow on the ground, which reminds me of Christmas and winter. The next couple of months are going to be busy for all of us as we prepare for the Christmas season, as well as be prepared for the winter snow. If you are like me, you still needed more time to prepare for the snow, however, God thought you were already ready, and provided us a few inches. We always think that we need to do one more thing before being ready to talk to God, when in fact he is ready for you anytime. Just like the snow it comes and goes even if you are not ready for it. So maybe the preparation is more like …. Be ok with stopping what you are doing more and talk to God, and then maybe you will feel more prepared.

We have 4 new knights planning on receiving their first Degree this Sunday at 6 pm. Please join us in the Gathering space to welcome them into our order.

Faith/Education Deputy Grand Knight Report

Gentlemen!

This month I was able to attend the 5th Annual Men's Conference at Aquinas with a few men from our council. It was a great way to spend my Saturday.

Steve Ray was very passionate and full of knowledge about St. Paul. Bob Kroll shared his experiences where he was hurt emotionally by his father and his journey to be the father God is calling us all to be. Was very moving when Bob introduced his father in the audience. And Deacon Ralph Poyo, got everyone out of their seats and shared how we as men get to step up in our faith and as Men of God.

During the event there was also Confession and Adoration available throughout the entire conference. What a blessing to experience God’s presence and forgiveness.

Some questions for us:

● How is God calling us forward?

● What’s your prayer life like?

● What experiences have we stuffed deep down that are no longer serving us?

● What is one thing in your life that isn’t working as well you’d like, that gets shift?

Looking forward to growing closer in Christ with all of you.

God bless!Emil Meindl

Liturgical Focus This Month

Dear Brother Knight,

The Wisconsin State Council of the Knights of Columbus is sponsoring a statewide charity raffle. The proceeds from this raffle are used to help support your brother Knights and other members of our community to alleviate sorrow, ease financial burdens and restore hope to victims and families of accidents and illness.

This year $50,000 or Ford F150 XLT Supercab is again going to the first place winner and 2nd prize is a Harley Low Rider or $25,000. 98 people have a chance at $500.00. Last year the KC’s sold 126,845 tickets which means that your odds of winner are certainly much better than in the State Lottery and 100% of the profits go to Charity.

We are enclosing 10 tickets which I would appreciate your best efforts in buying or selling. Each ticket is $5.00. Our goal is that each member buy or sell at least 10 tickets. Why not buy one yourself and then sell nine to your friends, relatives or co-workers. If you can buy or sell additional tickets, please contact me.

Since the drawing will take place during the State Convention (May 1st & 2nd), I would appreciate having all of the tickets sales returned no later than Sunday, April 16th. Please return the ticket stubs and money in the enclosed envelope, drop them in the KC mailbox in the church office, or bring them to the next meeting. Please return any unsold tickets as well.

Remember – Charity is a virtue that gladdens the heart of the giver. Over the years, this raffle has allowed our council to distribute tens of thousands of dollars to local families in need. Thank you very much for supporting this great program!

Fraternally yours,

David HawesState Charity Raffle Chairman608-769-2761 (Cell)………………[email protected]

State Charity Raffle

During November, as in all of Ordinary Time (Time After Pentecost), the Liturgy signifies and expresses the regenerated life from the coming of the Holy Spirit, which is to be spent on the model of Christ's Life and under the direction of His Spirit. As we come to the end of the Church year we are asked to consider the end times, our own as well as the world's. The culmination of the liturgical year is the Feast of Christ the King. "This feast asserts the supreme authority of Christ over human beings and their institutions.... Beyond it we see Advent dawning with its perspective of the Lord's coming in glory."— The Liturgy and Time, A.G. Mortimort

This month the main feasts are the Solemnity of All Saints (November 1), All Souls (November 2), St. Martin de Porres

(November 3), Lateran Basilica (November 9), St. Leo the Great (November 10), St. Josaphat(November 12), St. Frances

Xavier Cabrini (November 13), St. Albert the Great (November 15), Sts. Margaret of Scotland and Gertrude (November 16),

St. Elizabeth of Hungary (November 17), Presentation of Mary (November 21), St. Cecilia (November 22), Sts. Clement I

and St. Columban (November 23), St. Andrew Dung-Lac and Companions(November 24), the Solemnity of Christ the King

(November 25) and St. Andrew (November 30).

The feasts of St. Charles Borromeo, (November 4), St. Martin of Tours, (November 11) and St. Catherine of Alexandria

(November 25) are superseded by the Sunday Liturgy.

The month of November is dedicated to the Souls in Purgatory, whose feast is celebrated on November 2. The entire month of November falls during the liturgical season known as Ordinary Time and is represented by the liturgical color green.
