1 Program Update from 4-H/Extension Staff Hello Crook County 4-H! We miss seeing you in our office and at our events! Much like all of you, we have had our world tossed upside down quite a few times over the last month. We are working hard to make sure you are still getting the most out of the 4-H program during this time, where most of us are staying home and adapting to new learning and work environments. As stated by our 4-H Program Leader, it is very important that we remember, “the 4-H Youth Development Program focuses on youth learning, being flexible, developing problem-solving skills, gaining resiliency, accomplishing goals, thriving, and being great community citizens.” Many of you have reached out to us with questions about what the 4-H program in Crook County will look like in the coming weeks. Please rest assured, Samara and Dave are sharing all the information we have with you as soon as we have it. Please keep an eye on your email and the Crook County 4-H Facebook page for updates. That being said, right now, we are planning to move forward with events and activities after April 30th. We are remaining flexible and are following the guidance of Oregon State University. If you have questions about what this may mean for you, your club, or your project please feel free to email or call us! The Extension Office is currently closed to the public and we are working remotely but are still available by phone and email. We hope you and your families are staying healthy and well during this time and we can’t wait to resume programming in Crook County 4-H! Program Update from 4-H/Extension Staff

Hello Crook County 4-H!

We miss seeing you in our office and at our events! Much like all of you,

we have had our world tossed upside down quite a few times over the

last month. We are working hard to make sure you are still getting the

most out of the 4-H program during this time, where most of us are

staying home and adapting to new learning and work environments.

As stated by our 4-H Program Leader, it is very important that we

remember, “the 4-H Youth Development Program focuses on youth

learning, being flexible, developing problem-solving skills, gaining

resiliency, accomplishing goals, thriving, and being great

community citizens.”

Many of you have reached out to us with questions about what the 4-H

program in Crook County will look like in the coming weeks. Please rest

assured, Samara and Dave are sharing all the information we have with

you as soon as we have it. Please keep an eye on your email and the

Crook County 4-H Facebook page for updates. That being said, right

now, we are planning to move forward with events and activities after

April 30th. We are remaining flexible and are following the guidance of

Oregon State University. If you have questions about what this may

mean for you, your club, or your project please feel free to email or call

us! The Extension Office is currently closed to the public and we are

working remotely but are still available by phone and email.

We hope you and your families are staying healthy and well during this

time and we can’t wait to resume programming in Crook County 4-H!

Congratulations to all participants in the 2020 Animal Science Knowledge and Horse Bowl contests!

We will let you know when you can stop by the Extension Office to pickup your ribbon and scoresheet.

If you name is highlighted in green you have qualified for 4-H Spring Classic! Great Job! Spring classic is a

statewide contest that will take place May 15-17th at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds. Most events

are completed as a team. If you are a qualifier, Samara will send you an email with more information. If

there is not enough youth to create a Crook County team for any contest, we will combine efforts with

another county to create a full team.

If you have questions about spring classic or any of the Animal Science or Horse Bowl contests, please

email Samara, [email protected] or give us a call 541-447-6228.
