Heritage Breed Pork Retail Sales Our Mission and Vision for Real Food At Beeman Hollow Farm, we believe it’s important that the food we eat and feed to our families has not been raised in confinement facilities where the animals never see sunlight in their life, or small dirty pens, but where the animals can run and play and root around to eat the foods that are natural for them. We are blessed with an abundance of pasture with lots of nutritious grasses, woods full of acorns and walnuts, and an overabundance from gardens and sometimes fresh goat milk from our Nubian dairy goats. Our Gloucestershire Old Spot heritage breed pigs, a rare breed known for their wonderful taste, roam in the pasture and enjoy plenty of fresh air and sunshine. We don’t use chemicals, antibiotics or any hormones of any kind. We worm with diatomaceous earth and garlic and rosemary. We supplement with nonGMO local grains, but growing pigs, especially with heritage breeds, is a slow process. This ‘slow food’ method gives the meat time to develop that awardwinning taste sought after by chefs around the world. Taste it once and you will be spoiled forever. Have a Share of the Farm with a CSA “Community Supported Agriculture” is a winwin. It helps the farmer have a more steady income and cash flow enough to raise his crop, whether it is plants or animals – and it gives consumers an affordable way to buy local food they can trust, direct from the farmer.
