THE HEAVY

Marcus Warren !Writer and Director Marcus Warren left home to fuel a passion for films and the process of film-making. Moving from Detroit, Michigan to Hollywood, California, he immediately went to work on one of the most popular television series in the United States, “In Living Color”. Starting at the bottom and working his way up, he absorbed all he could about production along the way. !When the series ended, he was drawn into directing. In tandem with directing music videos and developing his skills as a writer, Marcus worked with several established actors - Tom Cruise, Will Smith,Anthony Hopkins - as director/cameraman for the international press coverage of various studio productions. !His obvious talent drew legendary Producer John Daly (“Platoon”, ”The Last Emperor”) who was often accredited with being a keen “talent-spotter” when it came to directors. Having given James Cameron and Oliver Stone their starts, John took Marcus under his wing to prepare him for a career in feature films. Now, currently living in London and Los Angeles, Marcus is developing new films on the back of “The Heavy”(Gary Stretch, Vinnie Jones, Adrian Paul, Christopher Lee, Stephen Rea, Sadie Frost and Shannyn Sossamon), released in April 2010 across the UK and preparing for his follow ups, “KICK” and “THE PRIDE”.

Set in London, gangs have been growing further and further out of control. Two major gangs ‘Trigger Happy Crew’ (THC) a north London firm run by Turkish gang boss Tariq Hussien and ‘The Rudies’ based in south London and controlled by elusive leader Milton Coles are sworn enemies and often cross swords on the busy streets of the capitol. None of them, were prepared for the impact of Jamaican reared hoodlum Fredrick Royston Ryan, AKA ‘Smiley Ryan’.
