Ring SystemsSeven sizes of ring are available, eachin two precision grades plus stainlesssteel. These go together with three sizesof bearing and two lubricators. Ringswith internal or external vees are available, as are gear cut rings andcompatible pinions.

Turbine handling fixture

The turbine rotor is mounted on atooling plate which is fixed to aHDRE1456G4 gear cut ring. Therotor can be turned with a hand-wheel to facilitate inspection andmaintenance.

Spool handling unit

The gripper holds a spool ofkevlar fibre tape during the production of high performancecomposite storage tanks. Thespool gripper rotates on anHDR512G4 ring and moves on aHepco HDLS unit.

HepcoMotion HDRE ring slides aremade from high quality steel and have ahardened external V which provides anextremely durable running surface forthe bearings.

A gear drive option is available whereteeth are machined into the internal register of the slide ring. MOD 4 teethare standard, with other sizes availableon request. Standard drive pinions aredetailed on page 20.

Los anillos HDRE de HepcoMotion estánhechos de acero de alta calidad y tienenla V externa endurecida, lo que proporciona una superficie de rodadurade los rodamientos extremadamenteduradera.

Disponemos de una opción deaccionamiento por cremallera en la quelos dientes están mecanizados en la parteinterna del registro del anillo. Como estándar, los dientes se suministran enMOD4, aunque podemos fabricar otrostamaños bajo pedido. Los piñones deaccionamiento están detallados en lapágina 20.

The standard holes are counterbored tosuit hex socket screws. Alternatively, thetapped hole option enables the ringslide to be bolted from below.

Ring slides are available in 3 precisiongrades, SS (Stainless Steel), P1 & P2. Allgrades are accurately ground on the90° V faces and internal register. GradeP1 is also ground on the mounting facefor best accuracy. The stainless steel version is ground on all surfaces.

Ring spacers for use when mounting ona flat surface are detailed on page 21.

Standardmäßig sind Senkungen für dieBefestigung mittels Zylinderschrauben eingebracht. Alternativ könnenGewindebohrungen zur Befestigung von derUnterseite gewählt werden.

Die Ringe sind in 2 Oberflächengüten, P1 &P2, sowie in Edelstahl, SS erhältlich. AlleVarianten sind an der 90° V-Führung, sowiean der Innenseite präzisionsgeschliffen. Umhöchste Genauigkeit zu erreichen, ist die P1Ausführung auch an der Bezugsflächegeschliffen. Die Edelstahlvariante ist an allenFlächen geschliffen.

Distanzscheiben zur Befestigung auf einenflachen Untergrund sind auf Seite 21beschrieben.

Disponemos de una opción deaccionamiento por cremallera en la quelos dientes están mecanizados en la parteexterna del registro del anillo. Comoestándar, los dientes se suministran enMOD4, aunque podemos fabricar otrostamaños bajo pedido. Los piñones deaccionamiento están detallados en lapágina 20.

The standard holes are counterbored tosuit hex socket screws. Alternatively, thetapped hole option enables the ringslide to be bolted from below.

Ring slides are available in 3 precisiongrades, SS (Stainless Steel), P1 & P2. Allgrades are accurately ground on the90° V faces and external register. GradeP1 is also ground on the mounting face for best accuracy. Thestainless steel version is ground on allsurfaces.

Ring spacers for use when mounting ona flat surface are detailed on page 21.

The HepcoMotion Bogie Carriage isused on tracks with “S” bends or bendsof differing radii. Each bogie swivels ona special play free axial/radial ballbearing which is lubricated for life.

Two sizes of carriage are availableincorporating either Ø64 or higher loadØ95 bearings. Carriage plates andbogie swivel plates are made from highstrength aluminium alloy and are supplied assembled and adjusted to suitthe track. Lubricators (�15) are optional.

HepcoMotion HJR bearings are available in two sizes; Ø64 andØ95mm. Both use double row ball bearings and provide a high axial andradial load capacity. Additionally, thereis a higher load Ø120 bearing, see�20.

The design allows for easy assemblyand any bearing can be removed froma system with a single screw.

Each bearing has a chemically blackened, high tensile steel screw andbush and is available in concentric andeccentric (adjustable) forms. Both sizesare available with either a blind orthrough-hole fixing. Stainless steel versions are available.

Zusätzlich wird ein Lagermit Ø 120 mm für noch höhere Belastungenangeboten, �20.Das Design ermöglicht eine einfache Montage,auch kann jedes Lager durch das Lösen einereinzigen Schraube entnommen werden. Jedes der Lager ist mit einer schwarzbrünierten Stahlschraube mit hoher Festigkeitund einer Buchse versehen. Sie sind in zentrischer und exzentrischer (einstellbarer)Ausführung erhältlich. Beide Größen gibt es als Varianten für Durchgangsbohrungenund für Sacklochgewinde. AuchEdelstahlausführungen sind erhältlich.

HepcoMotion HDRT Track Systems combine straight slides and ring segments to form an almost limitless variety of open or closed circuits. Theslides and segments are available ineither P1 ground grade or fully groundstainless steel.

Any number of carriages can be accom-modated, either fixed centre type fortrack systems with unidirectional bendsof common radii, or bogie type carriages which can also run around ‘s’bends and bends of differing radii. Aunique facility for easy alignment ofstraight slide to curve is incorporatedwithin the joint blocks.

A variety of drive methods can be used,see �4-5 plus other examples whichare shown in the HepcoMotion PRT RingSlide catalogue.

Los Sistemas Circulares HDRT deHepcoMotion combinan guías rectas ysegmentos curvos para formar casi unailimitada variedad de circuitos abiertos ocerrados. Installation ProcedureHepcoMotion Track Systems are supplied in sections ready for installa-tion, marked with a system referencenumber and sequence number. All sections should be assembled andclamped in position as a complete circuit prior to drilling through all holes.

Setting of joints should be carried outusing the joint block alignment facilityprovided, ensuring that both jackingscrews are subsequently locked and allcurved segment fixing screws are tightened. A final stoning of the slide Vfaces is necessary to ensure smooth travel across the joints.

Please list part numbers of ring segmentsand straight slides in a clockwisesequence beginning at any point on thetrack system. Curved segments shouldbe designated with a sufix “C” for aclockwise bend or an “A” for an anticlockwise bend.

Backplates, pillars and joint blocks areincluded unless “unmounted” is stated.

Final item should be quantity and partnumber of carriages required.

Load Capacity & LifeThe load capacity and life of systemswill be determined by many factorsincluding the ring size, the size andnumber of bearings, the presence oflubrication, the size and direction ofloads, the speed of operation and thelength of the path travelled.

It is usual to run systems at loads wellbelow the maximum to prolong life,which can be calculated using the methods below.

For calculation purposes, systems fallinto two categories: those where a carriage runs on a ring or track, andthose where a ring is captivated in anumber of bearings.

Wherever possible, systems should belubricated using Hepco lubricators. Thiswill greatly extend life.

The HepcoMotion HP4X24 pinion is compatible with HDRT gear cut rings�6–9. It has 24 MOD 4 teeth with 20°pressure angle and is made to ISO 1328grade 10. The teeth are nitride hardenedfor durability. Other sizes are possible.The pinion is supplied with a keylesslocking bush which allows it to besecurely fitted to a h8 toleranced shaft.The stainless steel version has part numberSSHP4X24. The teeth are unhardned.For best performance, the pinion andring gear should be lubricated.
