• Pins, bushings, rollers, idlers and sprocket segments will wear faster if the chain is not adjusted correctly.

**For example, overly tight tracks will increase pitch extension as well as external bushing, roller and sprocket wear. Loose tracks can cause excessive wear on pins, bushes and track links. Also, as the track links wear down, the pitch changes, resulting in extended wear to the rollers**

The Undercarriage of machines wear out sooner, because inside of the track link, rollers and idler wear against each other and the track shoe is in contact with the ground when machine is running. The life of worn undercarriage parts can be extended by special welding methods and repositioning of the parts.
