Pre-Weekend Community Outreach:Football & Life Skills Camp – USVI

In partnership with the University of the Virgin Islands, Youth Lifeline America is bringing its award-winning Football & Life Skills Camp to the USVI! Since 2000, this innovative program has combined athletics, entertainment and life skills training for a once-in-a-lifetime experience for thousands of middle and high school student-athletes across the nation.

During this three-day experience, campers from St. Croix, St. John & St. Thomas will learn fundamentals of football from NFL stars while simultaneously learning valuable life skills from business executives and community leaders to help participants become better prepared for life.

Pre-Weekend Community Outreach:Football & Life Skills Camp - USVI (Cont.)

Scholarships will be awarded to participants via area non-profit organizations. In addition to life skills training, each receives food, drinks, gifts, awards and a host of educational tools and resources. For participation, campers also receive free t-shirts, educational materials, classroom supplies, breakfast, lunch, snacks, gifts, a host of educational resources and other benefits.

The educational component of the Football & Life Skills Camp - USVI features life skills training customized to best impact the youth serviced. Administered with an approachable but disciplined approach, Football & Life Skills Camp - USVI life skills topics will include:

•Career Development•Computer/Internet Competency•Conflict Resolution•Esteem Development•Financial Literacy•Goal Achievement Strategies•Health/Nutrition•Hospitality Management•Leadership Skills•Mentorship•Team Building

Youth Lifeline America takes pride in achieving measurable successes within its program activation. Through the administration of its Life Skills Competency Test (LSCT) before and after Football & Life Skills Camp participation, true and accurate program effectiveness can be immediately identified. Since 2000, average LSCT Pre-Life Skills Camp pass rates have been a dismal 27%, improving to an astonishing 98% following participation in the Life Skills Camp. When tested one year following participation, 78% of participants maintained their passing grades. Football & Life Skills Camps provide vital information to youth that lasts!

Celebrity Basketball Game- Be entertained when Hollywood celebrities compete in basketball while raising funds for charity.

Celebrity Golf Tournament- Hosted at the award-winning Mahogany Run Golf Course, this golf experience separates itself from the rest by its amazing scenery, celebrity attendees and integration of entertainment.

Welcome Reception/Kickoff Party – Start off the weekend of “fun” raising in the Caribbean with a true island welcome. Celebrity party will include open bar for VIP’s, music and fun.

HHCW White Party - Hosted by world renown actor Brian White to raise awareness and resources for the National Wildlife Federation’s efforts in the Virgin Islands, attendees will be asked to wear all white clothing in solidarity.
