Week 3 ●Term 4 ●2018

Hello Vincent Community!

Principal’s report Hello everyone!

This week is Be a learner week. This is about all

students being able to articulate their learning. This

means they can answer the ‘5 Questions for Students’.

Feel free to ask your children these questions after

school each day:

1. What are you learning?

2. How are you doing?

3. How do you know?

4. How can you improve?

5. Where can you go to for help when you have a

question?

They can also use the High Five to solve their problems:

Attendance: We finally had some classes out of

the red (above 80% attendance), so CCB has Polly Parrot,

the Attendance Trophy for the next week. The goal is 90%

attendance (half-a-day off in one week) or better.

World Teachers’ Day: We celebrate this

tomorrow with a school assembly to recognise the very

influential role teachers have in our children’s lives.

Our school values: On Monday, our staff

worked together to agree on six core values. These are:

(1) Diversity, (2) Persistence, (3) Resilience, (4) Respect,

(5) Visible Learning, and (6) Success. These six values

will be added in an outer circle around the six coloured

people in our school logo.

Hallowe’en Disco: Come along in your coolest

costume on Tuesday from 5:00pm – 7:00pm in the Hall.

Tickets are $5 and can be bought daily from the tuckshop

or on the night. Drinks, snacks and glowsticks for sale.

Facilities: work continues on (1) plans for D and

E Block toilet refurbishment, (2) approvals for the new

concrete path, edging and fence for the pirateship

playground, (3) repairing and upgrading the school bore

for automation, (4) repairs to the Hall plumbing, (5) air-

conditioning the Art room and more.

Healthy lunches: Please remember the

importance of a healthy lunch every day. Some students

come to school every day with a lunch box that only

contains lots of packet snacks. A sandwich and a piece

of fruit with a snack is a good version of a healthy lunch.

Acting Principal: Our Deputy Principal, Mrs

Bronwyn Espig, will be acting Principal while I am on long

service leave until Friday 2 November.
