FOR A BETTER USIf there’s one thing that unites us all, it’s our children. We all want them to feel safe, happy and loved. We all want to give them opportunities to learn, grow and experiment. At Y Camp, children from all walks of life are given these opportunities to make new friends, develop new skills, learn about character, and basically be the happiest and healthiest kids they can be.

Summer at the Y inspires well-balanced, healthy youth development. Discovery of untapped skills and potential, recognizing new achievements, and sharing these experiences with new friends who maybe don’t go to your school, helps to expand horizons and creates a sense of belonging and

community for all children.

The Y. For a better summer. For a better camper. For a better us.

TO QUALIFY FOR MEMBER RATES: The child you are registering must have, and maintain, an active Y membership at the time of registration and through the camp sessions. For family membership holders, the membership must be in the name of the parent/guardian registering the child.

Y members always pay the lowest rate for Y Camp, on average as low as $62 less per week than the general public. That’s a savings of up to $620 over the entire summer. The savings are undeniable! For example:

• Register for three weeks of camp at the member rate and save $186. • Register for seven weeks of camp, save $434.

Y members get full year-round access to all Y Centers including exercise classes, the best equipment, Stay & Play for kids, family events, pools, rock walls, youth fitness programs, teen clubs, and more—ALL INCLUDED! Members also get reduced rates on Y swim lessons and youth sports. Plus, you never have to sign a long-term contract.

The savings only grows if you sign up two or more campers and/or take advantage of our early bird savings.

A family membership is $91/month for your entire family—up to four adults and all dependent children under age 25 in your household!

Join the Y, save big on Y Camp and enjoy year-round healthy, family fun!

Y CAMP FOR ALLWithout a doubt, Y Camp is still one of the lowest cost, accredited camps in Maryland! That’s because we believe in making quality camp experiences accessible to all.

EARLY BIRD SAVINGS Register for Y Camp by February 26th and get 5% off of your camp weeks and 75% off the registration fee— A SAVINGS OF UP TO $162 PER CAMPER! See page 25 for promo codes and special registration dates.

Every year, hundreds of low income families across Central Maryland are in need of financial assistance in order to

send their children to Y Camp.

The Y’s Send a Kid to Camp campaign raises funds to provide financial assistance to families

who want to give their children a safe, enriching summer, but due to financial hardship, cannot afford to do so. Please give if you can. Donate at ymaryland.org.

Benefits of Online Registration Complete camper files

 Sibling discounts and promotions

Search for camps without logging in or creating an account

Advantages of Y MembershipY members always pay the lowest rate for Y Camp, on average as low as $62 less per week than the general public – that’s a savings of up to $620 for the entire summer! To qualify for member rates, the child you are registering must be a Y member at the time of registration and throughout all camp sessions. For family membership holders, the membership must be in the name of the parent/guardian registering the child. If a membership is purchased after registration, the member rate will not apply.

PromotionsEarly Bird Savings: Get 5% off your camp weeks and 75% off the registration fee when you register between January 23rd – February 26th – a savings of up to $162! Use promo code EARLYBIRD2018 for the camp weeks and REGPACKET75 for the registration fee. Savings not valid on transportation or other fees.

Registration Fee & Registration PacketsA one-time registration fee of $35 per camper is paid during the completion of your online registration packet. This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Your 2018 camp registration cannot be confirmed/finished until you complete the online registration packet (via the $35 registration fee). This packet captures important information related to your child’s health and safety, and is required and in accordance with State and National guidelines that permit and accredit our camps. Campers will not be admitted to camp and camp weeks may be terminated without a completed online registration packet.

There is a day camp registration packet and an overnight camp registration packet. The information contained in each packet is unique to either day camp or overnight camp. If your child is attending both day camp and overnight camp, you will need to complete both online registration packets.

To sign up for your registration packet, go to ymaryland.org/campsignup and search for “Registration Packet” in the keyword box. Please have your child’s tetanus shot date on hand when you complete the packet.

Recommended Online Registration MethodBEFORE REGISTERING, review the 2018 Y Camp brochure and visit ymaryland.org.

If you’re a returning camp family or Y member, go to ymaryland.org/ campsignup and select BROWSE BY LOCATION. In the OTHER SITES section, select the camp location you’re interested in (ex. Camp – The Y in Catonsville) and complete your desired camp selections and registration.

If you’re not a current Y member or returning camp family, you will need to set up an online account. Follow the instructions at ymaryland.org/campsignup.

Helpful TipWhen registering, please provide an email address that you check frequently as email will be our main form of communication regarding Y Camp.

Y CAMP 2018

Most Y Camps are ACA accredited, which means we run our camps according to the best policies and practices in the industry. We voluntarily go through rigorous inspections by outside professionals to ensure we continue to exceed state regulations in health, safety, programming, staff qualifications/training, emergency management plans and more—up to 300 standards in all!

Y Camp team member candidates undergo a thorough review process including “Camp Try-Outs” (a half day of actual activities and scenarios), reference and background checks, and several interviews. Before working with campers, team members will complete a minimum of 30 hours of training that is specific to their role, including first

aid, CPR and activity leadership.

QUALITY CAMPS, EXCEPTIONAL TEAM MEMBERS
