Hello Queen’s Avenue, Happy September!
Where did the Summer go?... It seems like just yesterday the weather was
warming up and we began venturing outside. We also have come a very
long way regarding our Covid-19 reality. I’m happy we were able to have a
very positive, exciting and fun summer with lots of activities and events.
Check out our ladies pictured above, Lorraine, Donna and Mary enjoying
the Happy Trails Country show we had on our outdoor patio. We look for-
ward to celebrating with you this month with some fun new programs and
events planned, we have some of our Vendors coming to our outdoor tent!
We hope to keep enjoying the outdoors for as long as possible and encour-
age the walking club to meet weekdays mornings at 9:30 am meeting in the
Main Lobby.
We look forward to spending this next month making memories.
Let’s Celebrate Together…..

Rexall Health
Solutions
To All Residents,
In preparation for this upcoming flu
season, Rexall Health Solutions is
well positioned to provide you with
both the flu vaccine and timely access
to antiviral medication in the event
that Public Health declares an influen-
za outbreak.
Washing hands, prevents illnesses
and spread of infections to others
Handwashing with soap removes
germs from hands. This helps prevent
infections.
People frequently touch their eyes,
nose, and mouth without even realiz-
ing it. Germs can get into the body
through the eyes, nose and mouth
and make us sick.
Please see Gretel for your flu vaccina-
tion this year.
A Message from Tom
Where Did the Summer Go?
Hello Everyone!!!
When we talk about September, we often talk about things like the
Labour Day Long Weekend, Back to School and cooler tempera-
tures. For me it means that another Summer is almost behind us.
On Tuesday September 22, 2019 we will say “Hello” to Fall.
Do you know why Labour Day in September is a holiday? Labour
Day, unofficially starts the month of September. It is the first Mon-
day in September, and it is a holiday that was created to celebrate
the achievements of Canadian workers. It is a yearly national trib-
ute to workers who work for the prosperity, and well-being of our
country!
Please also take a look at Nicole’s September Activities Calendar. It
has some great events. Please look on your Activity Calendar for
the “End of Summer BBQ Lunch” on September 23rd. Nicole is also
planning to have a Fall Boat Cruise scheduled in and around the
Oakville Harbour. Keep a look out for more details. Keeping active
is important for a balanced lifestyle!
We also have some wonderful news to report. We were advised by
the Oakville Beaver that Queens Avenue Retirement has been
nominated againas the Best Retirement Community in Oakville.
Voting will be begin on September 10, 2020 – so expect to hear
more about this. Just to be nominated is an honour. We do want to
thank everyone for their support. It is a pleasure to serve!
On behalf of all the Queens Avenue team have a great September.

tained the minutes, as well as
organized both our supplies

greatly missed.
