Short Vision for a Prosperous Hebei Land of the Sun

In this rapid world of transformation and climate changes, we need to askourselves a question! Is what we do and build supporting life, humanity and our

common health, or are we building for a few rich people to make them even richer andthe rest of Mankind more dependent on them.

We as the Green-living Smart Eco City developers are very much aware that we need to change our way of thinking to support each one of us and all living creatures on this Planet to live a full,

wonderful and healthy life.We can thrive and be self-supporting and independent to live a nice family life.

To support all thee noble ideas, we need to look at certain elements that don’t work and replace them with new innovative solutions that support humanity toward a more green and better and most important

healthy life.We need to innovate, grow healthy food, find new ways of living together, be consumers and producers,

find how we can contribute to life and our society, and thereby gain power over our own lives.The basis for this is the energy that each one of us can to contribute to a higher level of existence.

We need to follow that dream that we can be healthy, prosperous and full of life energy to live the most fantastic life you can imagine in a nice green surrounding.

Investigation

Jomec international –Rotterdam invited us acting as developers for intelligent smart eco cities, to present a white paper for a territory of 50 x 50 kilometers. This territory was close to the city Huang-hua, 250 km from Beijing.After finding the exact location we searched on Google map for additional information on how the area is developed and where rivers are flowing and where factories are build and where roads are located. We made several pictures from Google maps to see where free space is available to build new infra structures.

Brainstorm sessionA couple of inventive people set together to come up with various suggestions on how this territory has to be developed. Mr.Guo informed us to put strong value on how this development should look like. Most important thing is to create “added value”.Following came out of the discussions.Within the territory many forms of agriculture activities are possible. In enclosed book we have sug- gested various models which are being investigated further in details.We came up with the following suggestions:

1-food production is intended to be for own use and what is left should be transported to other regions or should be exported.2-monocultures are creating many deseases and requires a lot of chemicals to survive properly. This has to be avoided as much as possible.3-each production source has to be developed in such a way that there exists a circulation economy which creates the added value and more profit to the region.4-innovative processing is a must, which brings the necessary production output to feed the people.5-it is our ambition to create TOP of the bill ingredients, we propose to make a branding of the area of Hebei. Products of the land of the sun.This brand can be done for all of the products.6-since know-how and development is increasingly needed we propose to create a university which is linked to a practical education. This process linked on a central computer network will bring information technology to production people as well as to intellectual people and can be combined with export branding products.

Philosophy on developing the Hebei Land of the Sun community.

Via Google Earth we have traced the data for the area which was indicated by Jomec where a complete new activity was intended to be realized.Via same site we found the roads/canals as well as where factories and houses were located. Since the total area of 50 time 50 km is a conglomerate of all kinds of activities it is essential to create a Branding Label for this area.We want to propose to call it Hebei Land of the Sun. Under this label we want to bring all kind products and services. Main intention is to come away from mass production but we want to go for high quality in lower volume but with a high quality labeling. Like everybody knows what is Bordeaux, for high quality wines.At the same time we will propose a new way of producing vegetables and meat in vertical far-ming units. Due to better circumstances to increase not only quality but also increasing productivity. We have chosen to for design city where many activities are concentrated like, health, arts and education, wellness and leisure, but also sports, and recreation is located in the main city.The main city is housing the central administration but there is space for proper livings in neat houses and sufficient space for walking and jogging in the central park. Water is bringing a well

balanced atmosphere in the city.Building the central city there is no need to demolishing many building and it is theintention to build the area but at same time take care of the wellbeing of the people living in the building area.The inhabitants are moving into new homes after finishing the new building complexes After that the old houses will be carefully demolished and perhaps recycled.Within the central village there is food production as well in vertical foodprocessing units, strategically located nearby the inhabitants. There are short distances from production to endusers. The products are being processed “Just in time”a new under-standing in food processing. Get your food in time as you want it.Around the central village there are 4 satel-lite villages where various products are being processed and organized. The intention is to make a selection of what each villages can produce. Around each village there is space enough to increase production which will be

intended for the larger cities in the neighborhood.There is a transportation foresee between the 5 villages as well as to the main district. A trolley or electric transportation is foreseen as a circular service in order to connect the 4 satel- lite villages but it is also possible travel from an outside village directly to the central village.For the water supply we have foreseen to get a connection between the river and a storage zone, where the water will be cleaned before it will be used for either consumption or watering plants.

Here we see the final proposal without the old villages. All the people are rather moved to new homes or are moved to another city. The red circle is the rail or monorail connection between the villages. In our proposal we plan a station to connect the main City Huanghua with the new rail system, so all the people who live outside Hebei, are entering very easy this area for work or transporting goods. On all sides of the area we provide export roads for larger transportation traffic to main cities in China..

At first we look at the climate conditions!The temperature in this area is quite similar to the conditions in the Netherlands.That means that we need to insulate the houses on the same standards as in the Netherlands to make the houses comfortable.That means an EPC value of at least 0,4 . And double or triple glass to make the houses as warm as possible in the winter.A trend that we see in Holland and in more countries these days, is to build green roofs on buildings. This makes a village very green and the roof is also there to vitalize the air and the rain water.The rain water comes more slowly from the roofs so the streets will able to manage the rainwater better in a more efficient peaceful way.In the drawing on the right you see our components in which we do work with to design the Smart Eco City. All these elements are all connected and nessesary to incorporate into the design for a optimal Eco City.

Zero Energy HomesWhat is a Zero Energy house?A building envelope in which temperature, moisture and CO2 are controlled and where no external fossil energy is required.How can those houses be manufactured?

1-There are two ways of building reasonable priced houses i.e a building concept where “lost moulds” are prefabricated in a factory. Those molds are collapsible and light weight and have handable dimensions. The molds are unfolded and placed on the building place and the hollow spaces are filled with environmental friendly materials for insulation.The second possibility is a complete prefabricated wall which is assembled in a fac-tory. Such paneled can be wall/roof and partition panels and are assembled on the building spot within one single day.

2-a new development is created by assembling a PV cell as an integrated roof panel. External generated thermal heat can be generated via same panel, thus increasing the overall energy efficiency.( up to 70%)

Electric mobility- Circulating Economy.

Human beings are individual thinking creatures and this is in the domain of thinking but flexebi- lity is also in the domain of mobility. Many years ago transport was possible by donkey and hor-ses. Nowadays we have airplanes, high speed trains and busses.All these mobility possibilities are designed to rationalize the transport over larger distances.There exists a lack on individual transport on shorter distances which can be covered by a Wheelie, a foldable micro scooter which is able to bridge the distance between living homes and trains/busses. In bigger cities and in landscapes there is a need for transportation and this can be done with a OlegO a micro car with the possibility to add modules for the second passenger of for a shopping car.

The concept is also perfectly to be used as a flexible rent a car system in bigger cities. Leave the car where you want to be.Once this kind of transport is feasible, it might become the transportation means for the near future, possible combined with existing motor car systems.

There is a need to install a factory where such mobility means are produced. These factories might be mobility means for own uses. Vertical Farming. circulating economy

The old economy predicts monoculture growing processes for land use. This means that on many acres there are growing only one single product like soya or wheat. Those natural products are very sensitive for illnesses and that is the reason why so much pesticides are sprayed to kill the bacteria or viruses.This also means that the products of such fields are taking up spores of such products which are being feed to humans and/or animals. The total growing chain is being poisoned by introducing pesticides.Also the specific requirements of people living inside cities is changing. They want to have fresh vegetables and fresh consumables. There for we want to introduce vertical farming. This is a process where on multiple levels vegetables are raised without pesticides and other harmful pro-ducts which are influencing people’s health.

By introducing also meat/fish production a new way of circulating economy is being created. This way of new production is increasing overall efficiency of approx 5 times more biomass for vegetables and the system allows for “just in time” deliverables. The vegetables are delivered when they are needed. A whole new world will come available.In the enclosed circles we have drawn several possibilities where added value can take place. Waste streams, which are normally not being used but disposed are the feedstock for a next growing process with additional income.

The vertical farming process iks drawn in the center of the circle.The input on the circle is seed, piglets, fish lets and eggs. In a separate small circle we areintroducing sperm to grow piglets. Further in the system we are introducing circulation of waste for example, waste water of fish is being used as substrate for the plants and so does the CO2 of the pigs and chickens. This is a very profitable way of growing feed since all the waste streams are of organic sources.During the production there is also an extra circle of manure waist. Mushroom can be grown on treated manure as well as minerals can be abstracted or charcoal for soil improvements etc.

On the water stream Duckweed can be generated while also CO2 of thermal energy can be used within the cycles. Dairy cows circulating economy.

Now a days keeping cows is based on economical scales. The more milk a farmer can produce, the more income is being generated.In a circulating economy many more possibilities are feasible than just producing milk for the world requirements.The circle is starting with feed for animals. Many farmers are raising their cows with wheat or maize, which is available on the local spots. The products cannot be digested properly and far-mers are feeding the animals with antibiotics. We are digesting those products and also consu-mes such medicines.

What is a better way??Raising grass, which will be fermented in advance before feeding the animals. The cows are producing milk, which can be used to feed calves. Many of the calves are getting specific powder feed while the milk is being modified in other products.In our concept, the owner of the animals needs to use the milk to make cream, ice creams,butter, cheese, yogurt and for babies powder milk.This is broadening their scoop of sales, while distribution can be done much easier via branding channels.From the rest like manure, there is a possibility to modify this into protein containing mushrooms, and later on into charcoal.
