HEARTLAND CELEBRATIONSLongitude 131°, the luxury desert basecamp at Uluru-Kata Tjuta,

is an extraordinary place from which to embark on a lifetime of shared adventures.

Treasured as Australia’s spiritual heart, the dual World Heritage-listed Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park is an ancient desert landscape widely known as the ‘Red Centre’.

Artfully arranged around a red-velour sand dune, Longitude 131° fans out from the cool sanctuary of the Dune House, site of lounging, cocktails and Rock gazing. The welcome open spaces include the restaurant with ever-changing views of the monolith as a backdrop for dining and contemporary lounge, just perfect for intimate weddings and celebrations.

Following the ceremony, honeymoon days spent in the desert intertwine with time by the pool. Find seclusion under a starlit sky, or walk among the whispering domes of Kata Tjuta. Share an adventurous excursion into the outback frontier, or linger at Longitude 131° to indulge in the luxury of a private pavilion, complete with a swag of mod cons.

OUTBACK GLAMOURLONGITUDE 131° HEARTLAND CELEBRATIONS

“Having the perfect view of Uluru throughout the day was magical and such a privilege. All you can hear is the sounds of the Outback, and we felt so small with these spectacular red rocks and domes rising from the desert everywhere we looked. It was the perfect, low-key, stress-free wedding”.

With just fifteen ‘tents’, Longitude 131° is ideal for intimate weddings, be it an elopement for two or an exclusive booking of the lodge for family and friends. Exclusive use is essential for wedding groups requiring themed events, public speaking and large group dining elements.*

A feeling of generosity extends from the all-inclusive tariff; the bar is stocked with a premium selection of wines, craft beers and top-shelf spirits. All dining is included, from breakfast to lunch and four-course dinner. A hallmark at Longitude 131°, the daily changing menu celebrates the best of contemporary Australian cuisine with a fusion of modern and indigenous flavours.

Central to a stay at Longitude 131° is discovery of the protected cultural and natural landscapes of Uluru and neighbouring Kata Tjuta. The lodge offers a signature itinerary of personally guided experiences; options include a sunset walk at the base of Uluru or a sunrise expedition to the Walpa Gorge among the dome formations of Kata Tjuta.

Fifteen canopied pavilions float lightly above the sandy desert floor. Unparalleled views of Uluru’s changing lights play out from the end of the bed, or on balconies from the warmth of a luxury swag unfurled in the cool night air. Custom furnishings invite stylish lounging, while works by local indigenous artists offer inspiration. Guests observe the sights of the outback through floor to ceiling windows, relax on outdoor decks and sleep under a blanket of stars. An in-suite bar filled with a selection of Australia’s best loved gourmet treats and premium beverages dispels any illusion of roughing it.

Two suite categories relfect the relaxed elegance of the lodge:

Luxury Tent | 15 available | Capacity: 2 adultsEach ‘tent’ pays homage to an early Australian explorer or pioneer, contrasting with the colourful textures of local indigenous artworks. The bespoke ‘Baillie Bed’ takes centre stage beneath the soaring canopy, adjoined by an ensuite bathroom with generous rain-shower. An expansive balcony with day bed and feature fireplace offers new perspectives for drinking in the view.

Dune Pavilion | 1 available (from August 2017) | Capacity: 4 adultsPositioned discretely aside from the other tents, the Dune Pavilion offers the unique prospect of capturing both Uluru and Kata Tjuta in one glorious head-swivel. Featuring separate living and sleeping areas, sleek bathrooms and expansive outdoor decks, the ultimate in desert luxury is the private horizon plunge pool with views over the outback icons.

THE CEREMONYThe lodge’s exclusive dunetop is a stunning location for an intimate wedding or vow renewal ceremony. Ideal for just the couple or surrounded by a small gathering of family and friends, late afternoon is the perfect time to exchange vows, as the light shifts and changes. It’s an unforgettable moment, blending romance, indulgence and natural beauty.

Subject to weather and climatic conditions.

RECEPTION OPTIONSThe Dune House with its soaring domes and soft candlelight makes for a magical reception venue. The restaurant comfortably seats a wedding party of up to 30 guests in a conventional arrangement or with tables joined for a gala-style dinner (available for exclusive use groups only).

Table 131° offers a truly unique setting for a wedding banquet. Set among the dunes under a canopy of stars, guests arrive to the sounds of an ancient culture and the warm glow of firelight. A degustation menu unfolds, matched with premium Australian wines. Later, the lodge’s resident astronomer regales guests with tales of the southerly constellations.

Table 131° is not available in peak summer months and is subject to weather and climate conditions.
