1 :: Ask for a framework

3 :: Mash it upIllustrative comparisons & mash-ups can convey a wealth of meaning, in just a few words.The key word? LIKE.
: “Using her PR Toolkit feels like having a thumb-sized public relations rep, tucked in your back pocket.”
: “He’s like Tony Robbins, after a six-day spa retreat. Brilliant, inspiring, but deeply chilled out.”
: “Their new music-promotion platform is like MySpace, minus the smatterings of spambots & adolescent angst.”
: “Reading her blog is like catching up with your best friend since childhood. You pick up right where you left off. And whether it’s good news or bad, you’re just glad to be there.”
4 :: Be vulnerableHeart-stopping testimonials are emotional. They give us a glimpse into your human experience with the product, offering or person in question — fears, hesitations, trip-ups & all.
: If you were nervous that the product was all shimmer & no substance, say so. : If you waited till the last minute to enroll & almost missed the whole show-boat, tell us. : If the product gave you an excellent kick-start — but there’s still work to be done — be frank.
Vulnerability infuses your testimonial with honesty. And honesty is more durable than hype.
