The Food Pyramid

What is the food pyramid? The food pyramid tells people the proper amount of
things they should eat. It includes: Grains, Vegetables, Fruits, Oils, Dairy and Meat and Beans. The bigger the area for each category, the more of it you should eat daily. The steps on the side of the pyramid are meant to show the importance of exercising.

The Grain Group is an important part of our daily diet because it provides us with the important Carbohydrates and Fiber that we need.
Carbohydrates - are an important source that our bodies use to produce energy that we need to be active.
Fiber - is important for regular digestion. Enriched grains also contain Iron and Vitimin B.

Citrus fruits such as oranges, lemons, and grapefruits and also strawberries are a great source of Vitamin C.
Apricots and cantaloupes are a good source of Vitamin A.
