WELCOME

Welcome to the 2014 Healthy Living Festival. Now in its third year, the event aims to raise awareness of health issues and promotes the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. It includes over 200 events and incorporates both NSW Seniors Week and National Youth Week.

Part of the success of Healthy Living Festival is the tremendous support we receive from community groups. Thank you for your contribution, we enjoy working with you and hope you have yet another wonderful Healthy Living Festival experience this year.

WELCOME TO THE 2014 HEALTHY LIVING FESTIVAL, PROUDLY BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE SUPPORT OF OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS AND HORNSBY SHIRE COUNCIL.

I look forward to seeing you at one or perhaps many of our events. Enjoy the Healthy Living Festival!

This newer walk is aimed at showcasing estuary fauna, the diversity of riverside flora and the natural beauty of the Berowra Creek estuary. The walk passes through groves of rainforest accompanied by massive, tall eucalypt trees, at the foot of steep, wooded valley sides. We will look out for estuarine fish, though this will depend on state of tide and clarity of water. Goannas and water dragons may be encountered, plus a variety of bird species. The route follows the Great North Walk on the Hornsby Heights side of Berowra Creek, with a turnaround point approximately 3km upstream from Crosslands Reserve. Bring polarising sunglasses if you have them to help in spotting fish.
