Introduction At Your Business Pty Ltd, we recognise that our success as a company depends largely on how effectively and
responsibly we work with our employees and the communities in which we operate to meet our health, safety,
environment and quality responsibilities.
We ensure HSEQ principles are an essential part of our management and decision-making process. Your Business
Pty Ltd’s objective is to demonstrate leadership through performance that contributes to maximisation of value.
The foundation of our leadership program is that all work is planned using risk assessments.
About this document The purpose of this Overview and Implementation Plan is to establish and maintain an effective Health, Safety,
Environment and Quality Management System (HSEQMS). Your Business Pty Ltd is committed to implementing
a structured approach to in order to achieve a consistently high standard of performance, promote a healthy
workforce, maintain a safe system of work and to proactively support the physical and emotional wellbeing of
our workers, clients, contractors and visitors.
Your Business Pty Ltd HSEQMS is aligned and consistent with the requirements set out by standards on
occupational health and safety management systems AS/NZS4801:2001 and AS/NZS4804:2001, and complies
with the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1984 (WA) and the Occupational Safety and Health Regulations
1996 (WA), and other relevant workplace health and safety legislation.
Based on the continuous improvement cycle, our HSEQMS applies the five key principles of health and safety
management (shown in the diagram below):
commitment and policy;

implementation and operation;
measurement and evaluation; and
review and improvement.
NOTE: Policies, procedures and other work processes developed by Your Business Pty Ltd are referenced throughout this
document, therefore it is essential these are read in conjunction.

Your Business Pty Ltd is committed to providing a workplace that enables all work activities to be carried out
safely. We will take all reasonably practicable measures to eliminate or minimise risks to the health, safety and
welfare of workers, contractors, visitors, and anyone else who may be affected by our operations.
We are committed to ensuring we comply with the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1984 and the Mines
Safety & Inspection Act 1994. We will also comply with any other relevant legislation, applicable Codes of
Practice and Australian Standards as far as is reasonably practicable.
This document, and Your Business Pty Ltd policies, procedures and other work processes set out the safety
arrangements and principles which are to be observed by Your Business Pty Ltd and our workers to ensure
compliance with the Act, and to provide appropriate mechanisms for continuing consultation and management
of health and safety matters. In striving to fulfil our HSEQ responsibilities, we:
create an atmosphere that motivates and supports all employees in their efforts to achieve a zero injury
incident working environment;
provide systems to ensure 'fitness for work', identifying and addressing occupational health risks, and
creating a healthier work environment;
work with a quality management system certified to ISO9001;
consider and establish appropriate HSEQ requirements when selecting business partners and contractors;
participate in voluntary and community programs such as sponsoring engineering students and raising the
awareness of engineering through active interaction at schools;
comply, as a minimum, with legal requirements and adopted international standards, aiming to perform
beyond regulatory requirements;
continually evaluate and improve our business practices, services and processes to reduce risk;
run a paper-less office and wherever possible all documents and drawings are filed electronically, and
during the drawing checking processes all marking up and revising of drawings is done electronically;
have the capability to show the impact our material choices have from a design sustainability and
compliancy perspective for new designs in Autodesk Inventor; and
have encouraged employees to participate in National Ride to Work Day held in October each year.
Health, Safety & Environment Policy
Your Business Pty Ltd believe that all injuries are preventable and care for our people and the environment is an
integral and vital part of doing business. We are committed to:
providing a safe and healthy work place;
protecting the environment by minimizing our impact on it;
complying with all relevant laws, regulations and standards; and
setting objectives and targets and reviewing our performance.
Principle 1 - Commitment and Policy
AS/NZS4804:2001 – An organisation should define its WHS policy and ensure commitment to its WHSMS.
KEY ACTIONS AND ACTIVITIES: Develop a WHS Policy which states in broad terms how management aims to provide a safe workplace, including allocation of resources and responsibilities for implementation and communication of information.

To achieve this Your Business Pty Ltd:
has established standards to address risk management, hazard control, training and employee
involvement;
shall take prompt and effective action to maintain a safe work place and take care of the environment;
promote a culture of communication and involvement in HSE; and
promptly report incidents, unsafe practices or conditions.

management system) and our website.
Quality Policy
Your Business Pty Ltd aims to deliver high quality, sustainable engineering solutions. We seek to achieve this by
delivering specialist, pragmatic, innovative engineered solutions that maintain the perspective of our client’s
requirements. To do this we will continue to:
ensure we understand our client’s needs and expectations and provide services that consistently meet or
exceed client expectations;
establish and review quality objectives for our services;
ensure compliance with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements; and
continually seek to improve the effectiveness of the Company’s Quality Management System.
Your Business Pty Ltd will fulfil these commitments by consistently implementing and maintaining the Quality
Management System in compliance with the AS/NZS ISO 9001 standard.

Leadership, Accountability and Responsibilities
Your Business Pty Ltd senior management is responsible for providing and ensuring the overall direction and
performance of Your Business Pty Ltd in health and safety. Senior managers are expected to lead by example by
demonstrating leadership in safety and making their workers accountable for health and safety in the workplace.
We also encourage our workers to take an active role in ensuring a safe workplace.
In order to ensure health and safety processes are integrated into operational activities, certain tasks may be
delegated to a person who has control of the matter. However, ultimate responsibility remains with the duty
holder/s nominated below. The responsibilities outlined below should also be placed in job descriptions (where
applicable).
Employer, Your Business Pty Ltd (ABN 01 001 001 001)
As the primary duty holder, Your Business Pty Ltd (being the employer), must:
ensure the health and safety of its workers and others in our workplace;
ensure the health and safety of other persons is not put at risk from work carried out as part of its
operations;
provide and maintain a work environment that is without risks to health and safety;

provide and maintain safe plant and structures;
provide and maintain safe systems of work;
ensure the safe use, handling and storage of plant, structures and substances;
provide adequate facilities for the welfare of workers;
provide information, training, instruction and supervision; and
monitor the health of workers and the conditions of our workplaces.
Specific duties as an employer also include:
record and notify the appropriate regulator of any notifiable incidents arising out of the conduct of work;
ensure authorisations are in place for any high risk work or plant;
consult so far as reasonably practicable with other employers or persons who have a duty in regard to a
work health and safety matter; and
consult so far as reasonably practicable with workers, their representatives and Health and Safety
Representatives on work health and safety matters.
Managing Director
In addition to the duties listed above, the Managing Director of Your Business Pty Ltd is also responsible for:
developing, implementing and continuously improving safe work systems through consultation with
workers of Your Business Pty Ltd and relevant third parties;
providing information, instruction and training to ensure people working on their behalf are able to carry
out their work safely;
monitoring organisational performance and ensuring remediation and improvement measures are
identified and implemented; and
ensuring all people working within their respective area of responsibility comply with their obligations.
Supervisors
In accordance with health and safety legislation, operational aspects of implementing and managing health and
safety processes can be delegated to responsible persons. The responsible person must have an appropriate
level of authority to be able to make decisions on health and safety matters. At Your Business Pty Ltd this would
usually be a Supervisor. In accordance with Your Business Pty Ltd Health, Safety & Environment Policy,
supervisors are responsible for:
observing, and enforcing Your Business Pty Ltd standards for health and safety compliance; and
recording and investigating health and safety incidents and implementing corrective actions.
Further health and safety responsibilities also include:
assisting with and participating in relevant health and safety training based; and
assisting with and participating in the development and implementation of specific health and safety risk
management strategies.

Workers
In accordance with Your Business Pty Ltd Health, Safety & Environment Policy, workers are responsible for:
taking reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of any other person who could be affected
by their activities; and
complying with health and safety procedures and directions (including the proper use of equipment),
completing required inductions or training, reporting work-related incidents and participating in
rehabilitation programs.
Further health and safety responsibilities also include:
participating in relevant health and safety training based on roles and responsibilities;
participating in the development and implementation of specific health and safety risk management
strategies as appropriate; and
reporting all injuries, illness or ‘near misses’ to Supervisors and/or the Managing Director.
Visitors and other persons in our workplace
In accordance with Your Business Pty Ltd Health, Safety & Environment Policy, visitors and/or other persons in
our workplace are responsible for:
taking reasonable care of their own health and safety and for that of other persons who may be affected
by their acts or omissions; and
being aware of and complying with applicable Your Business Pty Ltd Health, Safety & Environment Policy,
associated procedures and practices as advised in inductions and by other means.

Environment and Quality Management System (HSEQMS) requires an effective planning process with well-
defined and measurable outcomes.

Legal requirements and practical guidance
Your Business Pty Ltd identifies and monitors the content of all relevant health and safety legislation, standards,

AS/NZS4804:2001 – An organisation should plan to fulfil its WHS policy, objectives and targets.
KEY ACTIONS AND ACTIVITIES: Decide how you will meet the commitments you have made in the WHS Policy and document this in a WHS Management Plan. This includes: setting objectives and targets and establishing how you will measure and record your progress; selecting procedures for identifying, assessing and controlling hazards or risks; allocating resources and meeting legal and regulatory requirements.

health and safety performance. This is key to ensuring that our actual health and safety performance is:
aligned to Your Business Pty Ltd policies, objectives, targets and associated health and safety plans; and
