    Bienvenidos!

Here at the end of the majestic Baja CaliforniaPeninsula lies an inviting land of character and contrastwhere the deser t tumbles into the sea.

Lively and fun, Cabo San Lucas is known throughout theworld for its famous sportfishing and the world’s richestannual marlin tournament, drawing anglers from aroundthe globe. With superb beaches, diverse activities, greatshopping, fine dining and exuberant nightlife, Cabo SanLucas is a fun destination for every family member.

Twenty miles northeast, San José del Cabo is an authen-tic Mexican mission town founded in 1730, with acharming downtown of restored colonial homes and alovely historic church. Relaxed and easy going, San Joséis known for fine dining, boutiques and galleries, andPlaza Mijares, where many festivals and celebrations areheld year ‘round. Nearby, the San José Estuary is a tran-quil sanctuary of towering palm groves, migrating birdsand a sea tur tle nursery.

Between Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo, the20–mile–long Tourist Corridor winds through spectacu-lar scenery, endless beaches, secluded bays, and champi-onship golf courses. The Corridor’s luxurious hotels andresorts are among the world’s finest, where you’ll enjoyrelaxing in our very special corner of the world.

In Los Cabos, fishing, boating, water sports and adven-ture tours are all popular pastimes. Los Cabos is thegateway to the Sea of Cortés, called the “world’s aquar-ium” by Jacques Cousteau. A live seven–finger coral reefat Cabo Pulmo on the East Cape and the toweringSierra de La Laguna range are two national parks not tobe missed by nature lovers.

Los Cabos is indeed a treasure, where our rich history, our stunning natural beauty and our warm Cabeñohospitality combine to make your time with us anunforgettable memory.

Even with the construction of new roadsand wider highways, the expansion of the San Jose del Cabo airport, additional shopping choices with the opening of a Wal-Mart SuperCenter and a Sam’s Club, and new housing developments, Los Cabos’warm welcome and kindhearted hospitality has not changed.

Los Cabos Magazine is published quarterly with a variety of depart-ments that carry fascinating reports and coverage on everything fromfishing to fashion, from hotels to hot spots, from restaurants to realestate, from tee-off to tequila. Our articles are written by experts whofind noteworthy, exciting, and captivating aspects of our amazing part ofthe Baja Peninsula.

As the Los Cabos area and Los Cabos Magazine both continue to grow,we look forward to continuing our mission for the next fifteen years —and for many years beyond.
