Introduction

Dublin Bus

Highest Priority Health and Safety is the highest priority in Dublin Bus. So to help minimise the risk of accident or injury to its employee and customers, Dublin Bus has, within the company a number of programs to deal with this issue.

Dublin Bus recognises that driving buses requires continuous awareness, diligence and professionalism

Dublin bus is a wholly owned subsidiary of the state – owned Coras Iompar Eirean (CIE) and is licensed by the NTA to operate Public Service Obligation network in the Dublin Area. DB has a fleet of 900 buses, Employs 3,238 full time members

ErgonomicsDublin Bus buses are designed and provided with latest technology for safe and effective driving. Drivers need to be comfortably seated to operate buses effectively.

Working Time ActThis is applicable to all drivers and all hours worked must be in accordance with the Act. • Maximum of 11 hours work per day.• 10 consecutive hours daily rest.• Maximum average 48 hours per week over reference period of 26 weeks

Dublin Bus has a number of programs to assist drivers in achieving this level of professionalism and ensuring his safety, fellow employees, his passengers and the public.
