Healing Nutrition for Cancer Survivors:Cooking Classes for Reclaiming Health After Cancer Treatment

June 8, 15, & 226-8pm

After active cancer treatment ends, women often look for nutrition information on cancer fighting diets. But there is so much conflicting information on cancer and nutrition, it is hard to know the best approach. Our cooking classes “Healing Nutrition for Cancer Survivors” provide nutrition information on creating immune-boosting, cancer-fighting diets tailored to the unique needs of female cancer survivors.

Over three consecutive weeks--June 8, 15, & 22--participants will learn about foods that fight cancer, nutrition facts, healthy meal planning, easy recipes, and how to stretch food budgets.

Curriculum and Presenters:

Whole Foods, Roosevelt Square1026 NE 64th Street, Seattle

Demystify the confusing and conflicting information about cancer nutrition and learn the essential components for healing your body with food. Mary is a Registered Dietitian with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Nutrition from Bastyr University, and a degree from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York. In adition to her practice at Seattle Healing Arts, she is a clinical supervisor at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health.

Healing through nutrition starts with a plant-rich diet. Learn easy recipes, meal planning, and tips for stretch-ing your food budget with tastes from around the world. Jacci is an oncology social worker and health educator who facilitates cancer survivorship courses in Seattle. She is author of “WHOLE: 12 Principles for Rebuilding Life after Breast Cancer,” and the upcoming cookbook, “Veg Friendly! A Cancer Fighting Diet. “
