Dear Parents and Carers, And so we come to the end of another fantastic year at St. Paul’s. We have been delighted with the improvements the children have made in their learning this year, which you will have seen in your child’s report, and in the progress that the school is making in moving towards ‘Outstanding’. According to staff, pupil and parent surveys, some of the main improvements have been: the increase in the number and range of extra-curricular clubs; the varied and exciting curriculum; school productions, which get better and better; tightening of safety measures; involvement of parents; the happy and welcoming atmosphere; the development of our school teams; improvements to collective worship and the impact of pupil voice. To top this off, of course, we were judged as being ‘Outstanding’ in our SIAMS report, which measures how well the school, through its distinctive Christian character, meets the needs of all learners. We are constantly looking for ways to improve teaching and learning at St. Paul’s and to ensure that we provide the best possible experiences and opportunities for all of our children. There have been a few changes this year and there will continue to be changes while we move to improve. We know that you are aware that every decision we make is made in the best interests of all of our pupils. Our constant challenge is to ensure that everyone is aware of the reasons leading to each decision. However this is not always possible and so we ask for you to trust that we always have the best intentions when making professional decisions as a school. We thank you for your support. As you know we are sadly saying goodbye to Mrs Lightbound, Miss McDonald and Miss Jones this term and we wish them well on their next adventures. We are very much looking forward to welcoming Mrs Bateman to Y3, Mrs Prior to KS2, Mrs Bint to teach music and Mr Johnson’s team of coaches who are going to train our pupils ready for sporting competitions. We fully intend to ensure that every child has the opportunity to develop skills and talents in every area of the curriculum under the guidance of expert, enthusiastic teachers. All of our children have now met their class teacher for September and I know they have been primed with activities to complete over the summer. This includes participation in the Summer Reading Challenge. St. Paul’s came second in Kingston last year, and we are quite determined to come first this year! We do hope you are able to support. Might I take this opportunity to wish you all a wonderful summer and say how much we are looking forward to welcoming you back to the new school year on Thursday 3rd September! Copper Coin Collection

Thank you all parents and children who brought in their copper coins to raise money for the chosen charities of each of our

school teams! The charities were selected by the children and they raised £**** in total for ‘The British Heart Foundation’,

Red Class had a wonderful trip to Wisley where

they learned all about the animals and plants

that live there and what conditions they like.

They did some wonderful investigative work!

Year 1 and Year 2 completed

their Rainforest Theme with a

trip to Kew Gardens where

they experienced how hot and

humid it is in the jungle! They

loved making observations of

all the plants there. There was

also much excitement when

the class butterflies were

released into the wild!

Year 3 really enjoyed

their trip to St. Paul’s

Church, led by Rev.

Peter Kelley. While they

were there they learned

about baptism and what

all the different areas

and objects in the

church were used for.

Year 4 have been doing some wonderful

cheerleading, making up and presenting their own

routines with great panache and style!

Year 5 had a

fantastic day at

CCC, becoming

rock stars and

building rockets,

which they then

let off in the

park!
