  • 1. Digipak analysisThe Saturdays-HeadlinesFor my second digipak analysis I have decided to analyse The Saturdays album"Headlines" as it fits in with my genre. Its bright and colourful which is used to representtheir songs and the girls being known to be fun and stylish from their fans. This album isthe third of theres so they have already been established as a group but have thought ofa unique cover which keeps there previous theme of having each girl an original colourbut with a refreshing and different look to keep the viewers interested. The cover of the album as shown above is set in an almost video setting as if the girls are at thehairdressers reading magazines waiting to get their hair cut. This relates to the title of the albumwhich is "headlines" as the group is found in the headlines of the tabloids and it is now a big partof their lives. The album cover also shows technical convergences by combining the headlines ofthe magazines and their cd with music together. The girls get into charecter on this cover byacting as if theyve seen shocking and juicy headlines and relating to the audience by being in thesituation which there fans will be in by reading headlines about the group. However they also lookvery glamorous and fashionable which they are natorious for by their fans.

2. The cd of the album is in black and white which could be to signify the title "headlines" as anewspaper which holds headlines is in black and white. The title is also written in a headline fontwith an exclamation mark after it which could also be to follow with the idea. The font sizechanges as to the importance of the writing, establishing the group at the top and the name of thealbum afterwards and the the small print underneath. The back cover of the album is shown here having a similar colour scheme to the front with thelight blue background and writing written as if lights which are illuminated to stand out and whichmay possibly be seen in a hairdresses which continues the theme. The writing is in the certre of 3. the cover to show its the central focus of the back and those songs which the audience will bemost familiar with are at the top so they are more likely to buy the album. The bar code is shownon the bottom of the back cover which every cd needs and is unique to each cd which issomething i will need to think about when creating my digipak.
