Continental Mapping’s program

manager for the contract, Certified

Photogrammetrist Chris Aldridge,

added, “The Corps is a great client.

I’ve had the opportunity to manage

several IDIQs for other districts

and other government agencies,

and I’m excited about working

with the Tulsa District. My first

meeting with the staff there went

well, and we are already moving

forward with work on the first task

order. It is going be a fun challenge!

Fortunately, we have a very focused

and knowledgeable staff, and we

have an experienced team of large

and small business partners that are

industry leaders in this work.”

Continental Mapping is pleased

to add the Tulsa District to our

list of federal clients, and we look

forward to serving their geospatial

data development needs as a

small business prime contractor.

Continental Mapping plans to

continue expanding our service

offerings to meet the demands of our

Corps clients as well as engage our

large and small business partners to

meet the needs of this contract.

Continental Mapping will be attending several conferences in

the coming months. Look for us at the following:

Col. Helstad also has a firsthand

understanding of the needs of Air

Force and Army base and firing range

commanders, as he has both managed

these and worked at many across

the country. We are pleased to have

Col. Helstad advising in our daily

many mapping applications, such as

highly accurate topographic mapping.

Multispectral imagery at a 2-meter

resolution and covering up to eight

bands in the case of DigitalGlobe’s

WorldView-2 is also available.

With a revisit time of approximately

3 days (depending on latitude), your

next project is readily accessible,

domestically or abroad, and

archival stereo imagery is available.

As in traditional aerial mapping,

imagery is tied to control points for

increased accuracies through the

aerotriangulation process. By tying

into existing databases of photo-

identifiable points located worldwide,

or by sending a survey team to

a specific location, our team can

ensure that positional precision is

accomplished in the final mapping.

From volumetric surveys to site

analysis to updated orthoimagery,

your next mapping project can

be accomplished by Continental

Mapping Consultants, no matter the

location.

Welcome New Employees!

In addition to Retired Colonel Chris Helstad,

Continental Mapping welcomed three new employees

in late 2009 to our photogrammetric mapping and

geospatial data development teams, and we are very

excited to have their experience onboard.

Mr. Doug Rebhahn joins us from Melbourne, Florida,

where he worked as a geospatial analyst. Mr. Rebhahn

adds valuable experience meeting the geospatial

data development needs of Continental Mapping’s

Department of Defense clients from his past work

experiences.

Mr. Nathan Wuenstel joins Continental Mapping

from Fort Collins, Colorado, and will also be applying

his photogrammetric expertise to our government

projects. We are excited to welcome Mr. Wuenstel and

his family back to their home state of Wisconsin.

Ms. Breanna Testin joins Continental Mapping from

Minneapolis, where she was a GIS Specialist at a utility

company. Referred to Continental Mapping by a current

employee, we are pleased that the word is getting out

about the benefits of joining our team and the high-

caliber employees our reputation has attracted.

Airport GIS and e-ALP Surveys Airport orthophotography

The FAA is currently implementing a program

to convert airport information into a Geographic

Information System. The implementation of the

Airport-GIS, or A-GIS, program is an ambitious step in

developing a uniform and consistent data structure for

all airports. Within the A-GIS program is the e-ALP

(Airport Layout Plan) module. Continental Mapping is

familiar with the requirements and has the experience

to successfully complete the very specialized surveys

required for e-ALP.

Continental Mapping’s experienced technical staff

capably manages all aspects of the survey from the

initial flight and control planning through the image

acquisition and field survey to the finally executed and

submitted GIS files depicting the airport and approach

surfaces. In addition, Continental Mapping will

communicates with the FAA and the NGS, assists the

survey and engineering partners in the interpretation

of the required elements, and guides the submittal

process through the FAA Airport GIS portal.
