Iconic Australian brand, Spencer & Rutherford set to release AW17 Collection inspired by wild, uninhibited, reckless love.
MELBOURNE - 7 FEBRUARY 2017 - Spencer & Rutherford today announced the release of it’s latest collection, True Romance, an unmissable range set to delight all romantics.
Inspired by the wild, uninhibited behaviour that only heartbreaking love and lust can provoke, the collection demands a certain tenacity of the wearer, with striking rich jewel tones, including this seasons must have colour, emerald.
True Romance is instilled with the key Spencer & Rutherford qualities devotees to the brand have come to expect - a unique colour palette, superior fabrics and leathers sourced from around the globe.
An exciting addition to the range this season is the ability for customers to personalise their handbags using a range of bold and embellished straps and tassel’s that will be available for individual purchase. A first for Spencer & Rutherford, this additional option allows customers to alternate their handbag straps and accessories to suit their mood, and in doing so creates a product tailored for the customer.
Creative Director and Designer Kim Michaelides is no newcomer to designing handbags, having been doing so for the brand for over 15 years. Kim says,

“Our aim has always been to create a unique product, in the past sourcing luxurious fabrics to feature on our designs, this year I wanted the striking leathers we use to take the spotlight. Each piece of leather has been hand selected and dyed especially for us, which gives us great freedom and the ability to create such a unique product.”
In a world of mass production, what Spencer & Rutherford has managed to achieve for the last 15 years is quite rare. With no more than 200 items of each product made world wide, these handbags seem to bridge the world of fashion, becoming in essence like treasured pieces of art.
