The Sunday School teacher was describing how Lot's wife looked back and turned into a pillar of salt. Little Johnny was much interested.

“My mother looked back once while she was driving," he explained, "and she turned into a telephone pole!"

"Many today are as indecisive about the evils emerging around us—are as reluctant to renounce fully a wrong way of life—as was Lot's wife. Perhaps in this respect,…our present parallels are most poignant and disturbing.

It was Jesus himself who said, 'Remember Lot's wife.' Indeed we should—and remember too all that the Savior implied with those three powerful words.

While it was tragic for Lot's wife to look back, for our generation a hard look back at Sodom could save us from impending tragedies!"

REGRET-another bad bed-fellow, and he stays with us all day if we will let him. Oh! if it were only possible to put him in an iron chest and sink him in the sea.

Anyone can have regrets, but it takes character to forget the unpleasant and ugly. Regrets are only of value in a lesson learned, not what has happened, but what it has done to the individual. We are all a little bit delinquent, have made mistakes, but that should bring us closer together.

Understanding should come because we are all so human. Failures may become successes. Look up and forget the past. Go on to the new day. Remember Lot's wife…
