He Sees the Storms

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost.Amen.

People all over the world are familiar with the utter devastation

that certain storms can bring. With the hurricanes that previously

tore through the eastern coast and of course Katrina and Ophelia

we have become more aware of the destruction! danger and death

such storms leave in their wa"e. With that awareness comes a

heightened sense of the precaution and preparation one must ma"ein order to endure such storms! if and when they may find us.

#n our personal lives! each of us from time to time! will face storms

of varying degree and devastation. $ou may be in a storm right

now your world! your security! everything in your life that you

thought was roc" solid may be crumbling down around you.

Regardless of the storm! you need to be assured that! %&od 'ees

the 'torms.( )e "nows the seas that are raging in your heart! the*ord "nows and understands. )e "nows where you are )e "nows

what you+re going through! )e "nows what you,re feeling and!

more importantly! )e cares about YOUpersonally-

*isten to these comforting words from the boo" of the Prophet

Isaiah! It shall come to pass that before they call, I will answer;

and while they are still speaking, I will hear !Isaiah "#$%&'.

id you hear what &od,s word said/ #t says that before you openyour mouth to cry out to )im! while you+re still spea"ing the

words! &od has already heard you-

)is word says further1 #n St. John's first Epistle And if we

know that He hears (s, whate)er we ask, we know that we ha)e

the petitions that we ha)e asked of Him. ! I *ohn #$+#'.

St. Matthew's gospel goes on to say For yo(r Father knowsthe things yo( ha)e need of before yo( ask Him.!St. -atthew

"$'.

o you reali2e what great promises these are- &od "nows our

needs! hears and answers our prayers before we can even spea"

them.

0he 1ord is my Strength and my Shield; my heart tr(sted in

Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly re2oices, and

King avid goes on in /salm 4& to call &od5 the Great5eli)erer. 8he Apostle Paul called )im the God of all

comfort.

$ou see! beloved! &od never promised that we would miss the

storms of life. )e said in 't. 9ohn,s gospel 0hese things I ha)e

spoken (nto yo(, that yo( might ha)e peace. In the world yo(

SHA11 ha)e; not yo( might ha)e b(t yo( SHA11 ha)e

trib(lation; !storms' b(t be of good cheer; I ha)e o)ercome the

9esus said troubles are inevitable- 'uffering! disappointment! loss!

pain! discouragement! disaster! persecution and so on. 8hese things

are a part of every one of our lives. #t+s "nowing how to deal with

them by/( Why was 9esus going to pass by his disciples in the

midst of their desperation/

Well! if you remember from the te@t it wasn+t until the disciples

cried out that 9esus helped them. $ou see the *ord was trying to

teach his disciples as )e see"s to teach us today! that we are to live

by faith.

we want to do is try to navigate the storm by our own power only

leading us to a place of safety.

Beloved! be encouraged this morning! because whether they areliteral storms that devastate and destroy all that we have! or
