Tena koutou e te Whānau,

What a weekend we had! I hope you are all holding up. Thank you for the support with the closure of school and your kind words. It has been great seeing the support and kindness in our community over what is a challenging time for many. Keep on checking in on each other and doing what you can. you may have to teachers. There are some strong learning connec-tions being made between our topic ‘wai’ and the stories, discussions and experiences of our ākonga. At present we have students looking at the needs in our community to see if there is any assistance we may be able to offer as a kura. We will keep you informed of any future plans. We have had the NZDF drop off a supply of bottled water to school. If you have limited access to water at home this is here for your child/ren to use to fill their bottle.

The Malvern Cross Country will be held next Thursday near Sheffield. If your child is representing our school at this event they would have brought home information about this event and a transport form home yesterday. Please ensure this is returned on

Tuesday to allow us to organise transport to and from this event. Next Friday Room One is holding a special Mufti Day to raise funds to go towards the Year 5-6 camp. I was convinced, through a very persuasive letter, that this would be a good idea. Judging by the smiles on the faces of our ākonga when this was announced it is sure to be a winner! See notice in this newsletter.

Camp Fundraiser lunch next Wednesday is the much anticipated nachos. This needs to be returned by TUESDAY with payment.

There are a number of containers from sale yards baking in the kitchen, if you are missing a container can you please check if it is at school!
