Note: All panel styles have either S110 or S310 style termination posts. All are designed for use with a standard 110 type punch-down tool HD5 & HD6 Series Wall & Rack Mount Patch Panel Instructions Tools 1 Rack Mount Style Panels Vertical Wall Mount Style Panels Mount Panel Mount S89D bracket with screws (not included) suitable for mounting surface being used. Temporarily snap on vertical panel with termination side out to allow for easier cable termination. Rack Mount Wall Mount Route Cables (For ease of installation) Route half of the cables to each side of panel. Route cables such that they feed into center of connecting blocks. Using the #12-24 machine screws and washers provided, mount the panel to the desired location on a 19” equipment rack or equivalent. Strip a minimum of 50mm (2 in.) of cable jacket using Siemon AllPrep TM tool (p/n: CPT-RGTP) or equivalent. Prep cable Lace conductors S310 style S110 style Arrange pairs in accordance with the desired wire scheme as detailed on the color coded sticker provided. Lace conductors by pressing firmly into position from both sides of lacing post. Tip: Begin lacing on side of panel where cables feed from to avoid cable bundle interference. Terminate conductors

Correct tool alignment

S310 style block

Incorrect tool alignment(tool not perpendicular).

Terminate conductors using a Siemon S814 tool or equivalent110 style single punch tool. Alternately a high impact multi-punch tool can be used with the S110 style blocks

REQUIRED for S310 Style

OPTIONAL for S110 Style

Snap on termination caps prior totesting. Note: Screwdriver slot providedfor removal of S310 style.

Attach rear cable managerinto slots provided on rear of19” panel. Secure cableswith cable ties or hook & loopmanagers.

Install manager & secure cables

Rack mount Wall mount

Caution: Do not over-tighten cable ties toprevent deforming the cable jacket and potentialtransmission performance degradation.

Install caps

Install labeling

Loosely secure /bundle cableswith cable ties or hook & loopmanagers. Panel can now beflipped back over with portaccess facing out.

Peel paper backing from one of the adhesivebacked designation options – i.e. clear plasticholder or icon/label holder (see note 1). Locatebottom lip of holder to top edge of jacks andpress firmly.Slide paper label strip into place and/or snapoptional colored icons into holder as desired.

Notes: 1). Both label options not available on somepanel styles. 2). Laser printable labels can beordered separately. Visit our web site or contactSiemon Technical Services for our labeling softwaretemplate.
