Deliverables: Every business has them, especially in small agencies, where several

assignments are juggled at once and multiple projects are due to clients daily. Most are managed online or over e-mail. Take a creative professional at a design shop, for example, who is reconstructing a client’s entire website. Prototypes and mock-ups are drafted and numerous versions are exchanged constantly until the fi nal is complete and the website goes live. Take the tax accountant during tax season, who sends many sensitive documents back and forth to clients for signatures, clarifi cation on details and background. Bottom line: Everyone has important information that get sent often. For example, global communications fi rm Big Sky Communications often manages multiple projects at one time and relies on rapid content sharing to meet changing client requests. “The content we create is integral to our clients’ marketing and sales programs, so it’s vital that every last detail is perfect and fi nal materials are delivered on time,” says Colleen Padnos of Big Sky Communications. With the massive amount of e-mails and attachments being sent around the Internet these days, however, businesses are vulnerable to the technical diffi culties that come with “information overload,” which

could prevent their hard work from being delivered on time. In fact, recent research by Plantronics shows that the use of e-mail by professionals has increased 78 percent over the past fi ve years, nearly 83 percent use e-mail as a primary communication tool for business—and nearly 57 percent say they’re overwhelmed by the volume. It seems pretty clear that the variety and rate at which people share and send information is not slowing down and that the volume and variety of content in businesses continue to explode as organizations create documents, e-mails, Web content, rich media assets and corporate records. Fortunately, there may be a way for businesses to send digital content easily while collaborating better internally, meet the high demands of clients and not get bogged down by the amount of information. The creator of Acrobat and Reader offers a new way to securely transfer fi les from one place to another without clogging in-boxes or sending extraneous messages back and forth to check on the status of a sent fi le. With the latest upgrades to its fi le transfer service, Adobe SendNow, users can send, view and securely access a variety of fi le types from anywhere. As Padnos says, “With Adobe SendNow, we have an easy, reliable way to manage, share and

Meeting And Exceeding Client Demands In A Digital World

to reliably share large fi les, having confi dence that our clients always have easy access to project content when and where they need it. We can quickly and cost effectively deliver up-to-date content to project teams for review and accelerate fi nalizing content to meet our clients’ tight deadlines.” Deliverables in the Digital Age should be nothing short of simple. With the right technology in place, small businesses, professionals and everyday users have the ability to transfer information in less time and avoid the challenges that come with sending large fi les—all with little or no cost. -(NAPSI)

collaborate on large fi les with clients everywhere.” These days, transferring documents is just the start. This is an age of sharing—no matter what device (mobile, tablet, desktop or laptop computer) or format (photos, video or audio) you’re using, your client, boss, even your mother expects it can get done and get done quickly. SendNow offers these capabilities and more. “We constantly develop a variety of video and multimedia content for our clients—anything from three-minute customer videos to interactive presentations and in-depth customer success stories,” says Padnos. “We use Adobe SendNow

Here’s a question: how old are you? Think carefully before you reply. It’s a lot trickier than you might imag-ine. The correct answer, it turns out,

is about 15 and a half. According to recent research, that’s the average age of your body - your muscles and guts, anyway. You might think that you have been around since the day you were born, but most of your body is a lot younger. That may come as no surprise. It’s a com-mon belief that the human body completely renews itself every seven years, and though biologists would hesitate to put a fi rm fi gure on it most are happy to accept that cells even-tually wear out and are replaced. Your vehicle, however, has no such system for replacing older, worn out and/or dirty parts. Even the fi lters need to be replaced lest they get clogged and no longer function. Can you imagine your vehicle on dialysis? I like to think of it in terms of dog years or car years. It is generally accepted that dogs age

at a rate of 7 to 1. Therefore if you have a dog that is 7 actual years old it would be equivalent to 49 human years old. Since the average car on the road today is generally done somewhere between 9 and 14 years and the average lifespan of a human being currently is just shy of 80 years ,in this country, we can see a similar 7:1 ratio. The NTSB or National Traffi c and Safety Board says that the average age of a vehicle on the American road today is 11 years. Average remember. Now multiply that by its car years and you get a 77 year old. As we mentioned earlier, your body has a system for getting rid of old parts and replacing them with new. Your car does not.Ever heard of Jaundice? This is a condition where your body’s fi ltering system breaks down. Very quickly your skin turns yellow and often the whites of your eyes will turn brownish in color. Your vehicle has fi lters as well. Air fi lters, cabin air fi lters, oil fi lters, fuel fi lters, power steering fi lters, transmission oil fi lters, all kinds of fi lters. These need to be inspected and changed as they dirty up.. Generally the following is a good rule of thumb: 1. Air Filter - 1x per year or 15k miles

2. Cabin Air Filter – In the Spring or 12k miles (in the spring just before the pollen hits is a great time to think about this fi lter. Changing this fi lter also keeps your fan motor alive longer) 3. Oil Filter – every 3-5k miles (depending if you use and oil additive or not) 4. Fuel Filter – Every 15k to 20k miles. NM has the worst fuel so I recommend sooner intervals than most owner’s manuals 5. Transmission Oil Filters – every 30k miles unless chemically cleaned during a fl ush. Then every 100k miles. 6. Power Steering Filters – Few cars have these and they only need to be changed every 100k miles or so. The last difference between the human body and your car is that this auto regeneration slows as you grow older. With your car, if you keep the fl uids and fi lters fresh and change out the worn parts your car can quite literally live forever.

According to Babson College research, women in the United States have been credited with starting businesses at nearly twice the rate of men, yet only about 3 percent of women-run businesses attract venture capital. A Huggies-commissioned study also cited access to fi nancial resources (65 percent) as the No. 1 barrier preventing moms from turning their business ideas into a reality. Other signifi cant barriers include risk of failure (43 percent) and not knowing where to start (36 percent). As Maria Bailey, mother of four and founder of working mother resource BlueSuitMom.com, explains, “Moms are some of the most inventive people I know; they develop great business ideas but lack access to the fi nancial tools necessary to launch a business.” Bailey offers prospective entrepreneurs these tips to getting started: • Determine dedication level. Decide whether your passion is a business or a hobby to determine the time, money and resources that you are willing to dedicate. • Do your homework. Search the Internet and store shelves to see if your idea already exists. If so, think about how your product can answer a need that existing ones don’t. • Test the idea. Get the input of your target consumers by hosting an

informal focus group. • Write a business plan. Even if it’s a simple one-page outline, consider the following: What will you produce? How will you manufacture it? How will you market and sell it? What is your exit strategy for the business? • Find a mentor. Online communities of successful women can offer support, insight and guidance. • Discover capital in untapped sources. Look for unique funding sources such as brand-sponsored grant programs. Huggies offers grants, annually awarding a total of $250,000 to 12 mom entrepreneurs. Named “MomInspired,” the program provides resources and funding to women-owned business startups and new products inspired by motherhood. Leslie Espowe, one of the fi rst grant recipients, recognized a parenting need and developed a solution with her hands-free, waterproof WateRoo infant carrier, now marketed under the Lucky Ducky Baby brand thanks to her grant money. To be considered for a grant, moms must submit an application online by June 30. Twelve individuals will receive $15,000 in funding to support their idea or business. Interested moms, 21 or older who live in the U.S., can visit www.HuggiesMomInspired.com to apply. -(NAPSI)

Recently Graduated? Registration Required

(NAPSI)—Soon after graduation, young men who are 18 may fi nd they need more than a diploma to get a job or enter a training pro-gram. Often, they fi nd that they also have to produce proof that they have registered with the Selective Service System.

Young men are required by law to register during the period of time beginning 30 days before their 18th birthday until 30 days after their birthday—regardless of where they live.

Those who fail to register face the possibility of fi nes or prison or both. Plus, they will fi nd that they must register to receive state or federal aid for higher education and be eligible for a federal job or a job-training program.

Male noncitizens living in the U.S. must register to remain eligible for citizenship. Plus, some states demand proof of registration in order to receive a driver’s license.

Fortunately, registration keeps getting easier and more convenient. It’s now possible to register online, at a post offi ce, by mail or when applying for federal student aid.
