Revive Your ResolutionsAugust Is the New JanuaryDo you remember those New Year’s resolutions you made January 1? If the answer is no, you’re not alone. Forbes reports that only 8% of us actually achieve our resolutions. As the new school year begins this month, we challenge you to rethink where you want your health to be by the end of 2019. Take these steps to get on track:

Make your goals specific. Want to get in shape or lose weight? What does that really mean to you? Does it mean you want to walk or run on the HCPS 90x20 Gasparilla 5K team and finish in a certain amount of time? Maybe you have a weight goal in mind. List several specific goals you want to achieve by December 31.

Tell someone else. An accountability partner can give you the social support you need. Tell them your goals and how they can help.

Create a calendar instead of just making lists. If your goal is to exercise more, put daily activities on your calendar, keeping it realistic to fit into your busy day. Want to save a certain amount of money? Schedule a “budget diet” with days on which no spending is allowed.

Make small changes. Identify things you can do each day to move a step closer to your goals.

Get rewarded for your health achievements through Go365. You can immediately upgrade your status by registering and activating your account, taking the Health Assessment, and connecting a device or app. Then explore all the other ways you can be rewarded for your healthy choices. Ask your Wellbeing4U Champion for more tips.

Congratulations to HCPS Sites With the Highest EngagementWhile our goal of 100% participation is important, we are shifting our focus to an engagement goal of 100%. These HCPS sites had the highest engagement in Go365 during the 2018–2019 school year (August 2018 through May 2019).

Go365—Get Engaged! When Go365 kicked off in August 2016, we began tracking participation. As of June 2019, 42.8% of HCPS eligible employees and family members are participating in Go365. While that sounds great, participation’s only half the story. The other half is all about what you do after you become a participant and engage in healthy activities.

Looking at five years of Go365 data, it is clear that members engaged at the Silver level and higher experience better health improvements and lower health care claims compared to members who remain Bronze or lower.

Go365 makes it easy to engage in healthy activities and rewards you along the way. No matter what your Status is today, consider increasing your activity and maximizing your Go365 benefits to:

Improve your health and fitness

Lower your costs, and

Earn Points you can exchange for valuable merchandise and gift cards

If you’re not participating in Go365 yet, go to go365.com and join today. Read Add Go365 to Your Wellness Toolbox, the sidebar on page 8, for details.

Platinum SpotlightDina Wyatt, Principal Walden Lake Elementary and Wellbeing4U Champion

Dina Wyatt was featured in our Platinum Spotlight back in 2016. Here she is, three years later, a Wellbeing4U Champion and even more dedicated to Go365 than ever.

Today Dina is known for her can-do attitude, strong determination, and motivational spirit. She applies those traits to her focus on wellbeing for herself and her colleagues. “I am a strong advocate for the program!” she declared. “I have worked hard to encourage others to join Go365.”

As a Wellbeing4U Champion, Dina encourages colleagues to take charge of their own health and to take advantage of the opportunity to get rewarded for their efforts. “I tell anyone I can about the benefits of the program.”

Dina has always had the drive to stay active and fit. “Go365 offers me a type of accountability system and rewards me for my progress.” One of the best rewards for Dina is staying fit as a family. Her two teenaged children now have Fitbits, and they love to participate in challenges with her. “It’s such a reward to know that we are all able to stay physically active as a family and do things together to build memories,” she said.

Dina urges everyone to give Go365 a try. “It is so simple, yet so rewarding to see how you can quickly accumulate points and move toward a Platinum Status.” In addition to the program, she makes an effort to remind colleagues, friends and family to get their recommended physicals and screenings—actions that also earn points.

For Dina, reaching her goals is never an end; it’s a new beginning. “I love to set goals and once I meet them, I challenge myself with a new one.” For now, Dina’s long-term goal is to participate in a half marathon.

We Want You! Share Your Story!

Did Go365 help you achieve your goals?

We want to hear from you! If you would like to share your inspirational story of how Go365 helped you to improve your health and wellbeing, please contact Dina Marshall, your HCPS Wellbeing Coordinator, at 813-272-4479 or submit your story here.

Recipe of the MonthInside Out Turkey CheeseburgersThese juicy turkey burgers stuffed with cheese are simple and delicious! Instead of topping your turkey burger with cheese, stuff your patties so the cheese stays melted and gooey. Skip the bun for a low carb treat.

Ingredients

Directions1. Set grill to medium heat. Clean and oil the grates.

2. Fold each slice of cheese into quarters to create four short stacks.

3. Divide the ground turkey into eight equal balls, then flatten into ¼-inch-thick patties.

4. Place a stack of cheese in the center of four patties and top each with one of the remaining four patties. Pinch the edges to seal, then push up the sides so they are an even thickness. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.

5. Place the patties on the grill and cover. Cook about six minutes per side, or until the center is cooked through. Transfer to buns with toppings and be sure to let it cool before biting into the center so you don’t burn your mouth.

Can You Afford to Wait? Talk with an approved TSA advisor about maximizing your retirement savings!

Consider these facts: Cherie and Lauren are 65 and ready to retire. Compare their TSA balances: Lauren has an ending balance of $232,626, but Cherie has an ending balance of $320,984.*

Why? Time and the compounding returns that accompany it. Cherie started saving 15 years before Lauren did. The longer you delay saving, the less time your money can accumulate. Starting sooner is the key.* The account balances and assumptions are hypothetical and do not represent the returns for any particular investment, or factor in taxes and inflation.
