Who are we?As one of the first independent Care at Home and Housing Support service providers, we formed our company in 1995 because of a growing demand for Care and Support services to be provided in peoples own home rather than in a residential setting.

Where are we?We have 3 base offices located in South Lanarkshire, North Lanarkshire and Ayrshire.We provide services both directly to the public, and on behalf of many local authorities.We provide services across central Scotland, in South Lanarkshire, North Lanarkshire, South Ayrshire, East Ayrshire, Falkirk and West Lothian.

Our ExperienceAlthough we may have grown much larger in size since opening in 1995, we still retain the same philosophy, values and aims in our company.Our service is to support people to remain safe and independent within their own home and community.

Our StaffTo provide a quality service means we need the right people working with us. We select our staff based on their Social Care values and commitment to supporting individuals in Care at Home and Housing Support Services.We have been recognised as an Investors in People employer since 2006. We continually invest in the training and personal development of our staff to ensure our staff continue to develop their knowledge in Social Care thus providing better outcomes for our service users in our Care and Support Services.

National Care StandardsWe are registered with the Care Inspectorate. We are regularly inspected to ensure our Care at Home and Housing Support services reflect the quality levels within the National Care Standards. Hazelhead Homecare Ltd are graded ‘Very Good’ across all categories of the National Care Standards. Our PhilosophyOur Philosophy is to treat our service users as individuals respecting their right to freedom of choice privacy and confidentially. We aim to offer a service that is a service user person centred holistic support, involving service users and their family in the planning implementation and evaluation of that support. We are registered and regulated by the Care Inspectorate to provide Care at Home and Housing Support services. All our staff work to the standards published within the Codes of Practice for Social Care workers as published by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

Aims and Objectives of our Company

Quality StandardsTo achieve quality in a service requires a set of quality standards and a commitment in the continuous investment and improvement in the service. Listening to the people who use our service as well as those who inspect our service helps us to have the right quality standards and to continue to make sure we make the right improvements in the quality of our services. We are registered with the Care Inspectorate to provide Care at Home and Housing Support Services. We have been registered since the register opened in 2004 and are currently graded “Very Good” across the National Care Standards. Our service standards include all of the core principals within the National Care Standards.

• To Support our service user to remain safe and independent at home for as long as they choose to do so.

• To provide a service that promotes equality and diversity and does not discriminate either directly or indirectly against a service user on the grounds of race, nationality, language, religion, political or personal beliefs, age, gender, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, marital status, disability or social standing.

• To provide a service that offers choice, is person centred, flexible and responds to the changing needs of the individual.

• To ensure our service users are provided with a service that meets all regulatory requirements and is underpinned by the National Care Standards.

Staff StandardsTo achieve the quality standards we set in our services, requires us to set quality standards for the staff who work with us too.

This means that our staff are carefully selected, recruited, trained, appraised and supervised in their personal development. Our staff standards include an understanding of the role of a Social Care Worker as defined by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and the National Care Standards.

This means that all our staff: • Are contractually employed with us.

• Are appropriately recruited/selected and have a criminal record check under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme.

• Are continuously trained and hold appropriate qualifications appropriate to role

• Are monitored and appraised for competence in role

• Receive on-going personal development in their role

• Can deliver your services in line with our quality standards, policies and procedures

• Can deliver services in line with the requirements of the National Care Standards and SSSC Codes of Practice for Social Care workers

Monitoring Our Service StandardsIn order to make sure your service meets your expectations and our quality standards, we monitor and review your service with you. This means that one of our staff will arrange to visit you to discuss your services with you and will also make regular contact with you to ensure you are happy with your service and help to put things right if there is something you are not happy about in your service.

We also carry out annual service user satisfaction surveys where we look for your views and feedback on your service, as well as any suggestions you may have about how we can make further improvements in our service standards. This feedback also helps us to ensure our services continue to provide a positive outcome for our service users.

We also monitor our staff whilst they are carrying out your service. This helps us to ensure that our staff are carrying out your service in the way we expect it to be carried out, and at the times we have agreed and arranged with you. Our staff also provide us with feedback about the support service you are receiving and whether they feel your service needs to be reviewed or adjusted for you to achieve the best outcomes in the support service you are receiving.

Our Support ServicesWe provide Care at Home and Housing Support Services for a wide range of people living in their own homes within the community.Our Services are available to people on behalf of the Local Authority or can be purchased directly from us. If you have been assessed by a Local Authority to receive support services, you can ask for us to provide your support service through the Self-Directed support option with the local authority or you can contact us to arrange to purchase any of our services.

Care and Support in your own home when you need itOur personal Care and Support services can help you to remain independent and comfortable in your own home. Our services are tailored to your personal needs and are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year.

How Can We Help You?We can help you to make choices about what is included in your services based on your needs. You might be able to do some things for yourself but need some support with other things. Your personal care package could include all or some of the following:

MovementHelp with the safe usage of any equipment such as hoists, adaptations and safe movement in and out of bed, the bathroom and toilet.

Social CareHelp with companionship in your home, or going out to the shops. Help with collection of pensions, paying bills and picking up shopping.

MedicationSupporting you to take your medication.

Personal CareHelping you with washing, bathing, dressing, showering, shaving and dental care, stoma and catheter care, commode emptying.

Household CareLight housework such as; kitchen & bathroom hygiene, dusting, vacuuming, laundry, ironing and other household tasks such as cooking and meal preparation.
