Summary• Hays County’s unemployment rate is currently below 3%.

• The average new home sale price is more than $275,000 within HCISD.

• Hays CISD closed more than 1,500 new homes in 2017, and had the second most annual closings within the Austin MSA.

• There are 745 multi-family units under construction within the NegleyElementary zone, including 216 tax-credit units that will impact the district in the fall of 2018.

• Due to an IDEA Charter school impact, Hays CISD is expected to add 122 students this fall.

• HCISD can expect an increase of approximately 1,475 students during the next 5 years.
