HistoryHayn Enterprises started in a chicken coop/garage pre 1960 (known then as C.O. Hayn Tool & Mfg. Co.) by a machinist who was losing his job because of his company’s relocation. He dreamed of being his own boss and supporting his family. That dream, now in it’s second generation some 50 years later, has flourished into a world class manufacturing facility.

Pricing (wholesale only): Please call for your discount and trade terms. Pricing is subject to change without notice, but every effort will be made to hold prices for the calendar year.

Payment: Standard payment terms are net 30 days to established accounts. Prepayment or C.O.D. shipment is required for first time orders or until account terms are established. We also accept all major Credit Cards for your convenience. If your account is not kept current you will be put on C.O.D. and a 1-1/2% finance charge will be added per month until your balance is paid. Payment discounts will not be allowed on invoices with account balances over the established terms.

Freight: Freight and insurance charges will be added to invoice when shipped. Customers are responsible for all shipping charges. Our C.O.D. fee is $22.00 net. Depending on size and weight of packages, orders will be shipped via UPS, FedEx, or common carrier. Shipments with other carriers may incur additional charges.

Returns: Returns may be subject to a restocking charge depending on parts ordered. Please call for a return authorization number before submitting any returns. Due to rapid product improvements, only current inventory will be accepted. Non-catalog items may not be returnable.

Stud Tensioning Internal Adjuster System

This simple and economical cable tensioning system provides for an extremely “clean” look concealing the threads for adjustment internally. The typical application is for short to medium length cable runs in wire sizes ranging from 1/8" to 1/4". Cable tensioning is easily accomplished with the use of a 3/16" hex key wrench (Allen wrench). All hardware is made from high quality 316 grade stainless steel for superior corrosion resistance.

Additionally, the stud tensioners can be used in conjunction with other stud length combinations and systems to meet your design criteria.

Termination Stud System

This cost effective cable tensioning system utilizes high quality closed turnbuckle assemblies and surface mount Termination Studs. Installation is easy by simply drilling holes in your verticals for the cable to pass through. Tensioning is accomplished by the Termination Stud cap or top pulling against the end verticals/posts in the run. This system supports any type or style of post with available wire sizes ranging from 1/8" to 3/8". Standard Termination Stud end fittings listed are for 2" - 4" - 6" thick post configurations; however, Termination Studs are available for up to 12" thick post configurations. All hardware is made from high quality 316 grade stainless steel for superior corrosion resistance.

In addition to new projects, this system proves to be a choice for retrofitting existing rails to meet current codes.

Countersunk Termination Stud System

The Countersunk Termination Stud system demonstrates similar features as our Termination Stud system, except the end fittings are sunk into the end verticals in the run for a flush look. This system supports flat bar or tube style posts in wire sizes ranging from 1/8" to 3/16". Standard Termination Stud end fittings listed are for 2" - 4" - 6" thick post configurations; however, Termination Studs are available for up to 12" thick post configurations. Installation is simple, by using a standard 82° countersink on your end verticals/posts the fitting will insert flush with the face. All hardware is made from high quality 316 grade stainless steel for superior corrosion resistance.

Toggle Jaw System

Utilizing “Clevis” style ends for cable attachment, this system allows for connection to eye bolts, tee-stock, angle iron, flat bar, loops, etc. The toggling feature allows for angled takeoff without the use of additional hardware. Toggle ends come standard with screws and lock nuts; however, the Toggles are also available with clevis pins with cotter pins or ring pins upon request. All hardware is made from high quality 316 grade stainless steel for superior corrosion resistance.

Deck Toggle - Surface Mount System

This cost effective cable tensioning system utilizes “Deck” toggles which provide a face mount solution while allowing for angled takeoff. The Deck Toggle fittings are attached utilizing two screws through the Deck Toggle base. The mounting surfaces include wood posts or blocking (requires minimum 3" wood blocking) on either side of a common post by through bolting, or drilling and tapping a metallic post. The articulation range of the Deck Toggle end fittings is greater than 180 degrees. All hardware is made from high quality 316 grade stainless steel for superior corrosion resistance.

The strength of the cable assembly is limited to the screw strength and attaching base material.

Lag System - Surface Mount System

The “Lag End” cable tensioning system has been developed for direct attachment to wood surfaces with a minimum of 3" of wood blocking for full thread engagement. Holes are simply pre-drilled into the connecting wood surface and the lag is threaded into the hole. All hardware is made from high quality 316 grade stainless steel for superior corrosion resistance.

The strength of the cable assembly is limited to the lag holding power and mounting material (solid wood blocking is required). Lag hardware is only recommended for light duty use and not for commercial use.

Architectural Adjuster Fork System

Made from 316 grade stainless steel, this elegant fork system is used for both rod and cable applications and is engineered for strength as well as aesthetic appeal. The fork end fittings are offered from 1/4" – 2" pin diameter. The system includes left and right hand thread configurations as well as wrench flats to facilitate tensioning. Fork pin configurations include a standard clevis pin with cotter pin retention or an upgrade to a double headed clevis pin for a smooth look. Architectural lock nuts are engineered to complement the aesthetics of the mating fork assembly.

Threaded Stud System

The most cost effective cable attachment and tensioning solution offers a very “clean” look. This system normally uses a Flat Washer and Hex Nut for tensioning against the end verticals/posts in the run. A Cap (Acorn) Nut is installed on the protruding threads to finish off the attachment and lock the tensioning nut in position.

Similar to Hayn machine swage and Handy Crimp™ style cable systems, this design revolves around being a high strength yet compact solution for swageless cable terminations. Additionally, this system was designed to minimize the amount of new hardware components required sharing the majority of end fittings choices with it’s “swage type” counterparts.

The Hayn Grip™ is offered for 1x19 and 7x7 cable strand configurations in both 1/8" and 3/16" cable diameters. We manufacture the hardware from high quality 316 grade stainless steel* for superior corrosion resistance.

Trellis System Hardware

Trellis System hardware made from 316 grade stainless steel is offered in 1/8" – 1/4" wire diameters. The system is designed to accommodate cables attaching perpendicular to each other to form a grid pattern. Cable sizes greater than 1/8" utilize the LP104 series posts which have an additional support base for stability. The posts offer a through mounting system for attachment to a surface.

Cross Clamps

Cross Clamps are used in conjunction with trellis posts as a “stiffener” at the cable crossing points where no post exists and to attach horizontal and vertical interior cables to perimeter cables.

Swage to Swage Turnbuckles

The Swage to Swage Turnbuckles are applied in longer cable runs with spacing approximately 30'-40' ensuring that proper tensioning of a cable assembly can be achieved due to cable stretch. Additionally, these assemblies are used to achieve a certain desired look in shorter cable runs. Based on the look desired, positioning of the turnbuckles is the designer’s choice. These fittings are fully compatible with any of our termination style fittings. All hardware is made from high quality 316 grade stainless steel for superior corrosion resistance.

Tubular Turnbuckle Bodies

Crafted from 316 stainless steel these elegant tubular turnbuckle bodies are available from stock in thread sizes ranging from #10 to 1.0". Additional sizes available via special order up to 1-1/2" thread. All bodies over 5/8" thread utilize a bronze threaded insert for protection against thread galling.

HAND CRIMP INSTRUC-TIONS1. Make sure you have the proper

equipment and all parts required!

2. If you are using vinyl coated cable it will be necessary to strip back the coating as shown in fig#1.

3. Insert stripped cable into Handy Crimp™ fitting and crimp 3 times as shown in fig#2.

4. Attach completed first fitting at point of beginning and run cable to other end making sure to adjust all turnbuckles, etc. to 2/3 open position.

5. Attach loose Handy Crimp™ fitting to end position and pull cable tightly along side to measure for cut as shown in fig#3.

6. Repeat steps #2 & #3 for end fitting.

7. Be sure to check all crimps with micrometer or gauge supplied!

The WireTeknik swager is a simple and robust design. Pull-through process assures the fitting will remain straight. Excellent dual-use machine for both portable and production work. A-100 through A-200 standard with hand pump, an electro-hydraulic power supply is available for all units.

All Hayn Rigging Turnbuckles are designed to exceed the breaking strength of 1x19 stainless steel rope in their corresponding wire size. However a safe working load of 40% of these amounts should not be exceeded!
