The Church Service was vibrant: Reunion visitors filled

the little church to capacity. We were treated to a his-

tory of the Hayes family donations to the church con-

tents prior to the service proper.

Group photos were taken of each of the eight family

branches plus a huge whole Reunion group in the wilt-

ing sun. Thank you one and all for your patience! Indi-

vidual photos were taken of all who came as well—

thank you Ann, Rob, David and Ruth. Highlights of the

Reunion were the joys of meeting family members for

first time and renewing old friendships.

Family Tree Charts of each branch were laid out on

the tables for people to find themselves and to up-

date the records. Photo boards of each branch were

created by Marion Bray and viewed by all with great

interest. Photos were scanned at 3 different stations

to speed up the process. Folk brought a picnic lunch

and scattered about the hall and grounds to eat. Af-

ternoon tea was a moving feast on the long tables

inside. Tea and coffee was generously served all day

by Margaret Hayes and her helpers. Many family

members did a tour of the historic Hayes family

properties in the Tooborac area on the day or on the

HELP! Someone at the Reunion, showed me a

fabulous PHOTO ALBUM, but WHOM?

A Woman showed me her Album just before ##am,

when I was about to go to the Church Service. I didn’t

see the book again and would love copies of the photos.

It was an A- display book with about / photos per page

with notes written beside them. There were some very

special photos we’d love to share.

PLEASE CONTACT JENNIE BURT

HELP! Someone left me with a fabulous collection of

John Stitchell Hayes letters.

We have enjoyed pouring through it, ensuring we have cop-

ies of them all. However, we want the owner to have it

back. Jennie has it at home in Box Hill South and is happy

to post it or deliver it [or she is happy to enjoy the com-

pany of the owners visit].

PLEASE CONTACT JENNIE on 67 8999 87:- or

REUNION comments:

“Well done on a great day!”

“Having a cuppa available all day was fantastic for

a cuppaholic like me!”

“It was a delight to see over Mimosa Glen. “

“Well done to the Committee for all your efforts

during the year to keep everyone informed, col-

lecting some historical stories and for organising

the photos.”

“Thanks so much for all the effort you put into the

re-union.”

“It was the best one since 1967 for sure.“

“The day wasn't long enough for us hence next

time, we are going earlier.”

Last Will and Testament of Edward Hayes

Edward left the following items to the following family

members. A photographic collection of these items

would be valuable if we can locate them all. If you are

aware of an item from this list or from Sarah’s Will,

please photograph it and send us a copy so we can all

share it in future Heralds.
