LEON COUNTY’S SUMMER PROGRAM
This past summer we had:
Almost 35,000 breakfast
7,000 of that was cold
Just over 45,000 lunch
9,100 of that was cold
23 sites
10 were cold
We have:• 3 large refrigerated trucks (require CDL)
• 1 small box truck
• A bunch of vans
• 2 drivers
• 1 Central Kitchen Manager
COMMON DELIVERY PROBLEMS Keeping everything cold!
It is 95̊ outside and 105̊ in the kitchen
The refrigeration on a truck goes out We can rent a refrigerated truck, but it takes a few days for the local store to get them in
Once our truck is in the shop, it can take a week or more for it to get fixed
A driver calls out…we only have 2 What is the best way to split the route, get everything delivered on time and keep it in the correct
temperature zone?
A school calls at 7:30 to say they have a field trip at 9 Someone has to stop packing to deliver
We are closed on Fridays but some sites are opened We deliver 2 days worth of meals on Thursdays
