Activities 2015-16

1. NSS Programe Officer, Mr P Srinivasa, attended NSS ETI Training Program from

06-04-2015 to 12-04-2015 at Osmania University, Hyderabad. This program

helped all PO’s to know how to execute NSS special camp smoothly. They

provided awareness on First Aid, cooking, accounts maintenance, Traffic

awareness, health and hygiene and other social evils.

Report on APCRICON 2015-5th of July 2015 APCRI was founded in the year 1998 with a vision to make: India Rabies Free by 2020. Since then, it has evolved into a national organization that is one of the most vibrant scientific societies in the field with a strength of 750 life members. APCRI serves as a platform that brings together the best minds in the country comprising of medical professionals, public health personnel ,veterinary doctors and others for Advocacy, Research & Information dissemination about prevention & control of Rabies. APCRI led by an excellent team of experts and dedicated people is actively involved in organizing conferences, continuing medical education (CME),symposia, lectures, trainings, scientific publications, book releases, etc. and has a pan India representation.

We,the NSS the volunteers(15) were given a chance to participated in the

seminor APRICON 2015 on 4th&5th of July 2015

.The main aim of this seminor is to provide the information about Rabis ,which

spread due to dog’s bite.

We attended the seminor around 10:00am and continued till 4:30pm.

Report on CAMPUS CLEANING PROGRAMME-22nd to 27th June 2015

3 . NSS Unit of the college conducted CAMPUS CLEANING PROGRAMME from 22nd to

27th June 2015 .43 volunteers took part in this program

Campus to Community is a community service-learning program that combines

hands-on service work with reflection. Through service work, students challenge

social issues, build skills and gain practical experience. Students then reflect to learn

about themselves and the communities they work in.

4. NSS Volunteers helped Hospitality committee (Dept. Of Commerce) for FRESHER’S

PARTYof the college. Students were served from 12pm to 3pm.15 volunteers took

part in this program

Report on An Orientation Day-1st August 2015

5. NSS unit organized An Orientation Day for the new volunteers on 1st August 2015.

Prof.Y.Ashok ,Chairman NSS and principal of the college was the guest to

the program. The program began at 2:30pm with the address of College

Principal. Mr P Srinivasa ,NSS PO gave a report on all nss activities of

previous year and briefed all the rules, regulations and decorum to be

maintained. Few senior volunteers were asked to share experiences

Report on District Level Meeting-5th August 2015.

6. NSS PO attended District Level Meeting at Osmania University held on 5th August 2015.

This meeting was intended to explain the process of conducting various activities.

Various dignitaries including State liaison officer, Regional coordinator, NSS

coordinators and NSS PO were present in the meeting

ReportonAwareness on Road Driving- 8th August 2015

The number of women motorcycle riders are increasing continuously in the last

few years.Women are riding motorbikes more than ever. All the top

motorcycle brands are coming up with motorbike models to suit the women

population. There are some kinds of motorcycles which are more popular

among girls.

Get motorbikes for short riders

Light motorbikes are ideal for girls

More and more women are riding motorbikes

Some motorcycle brands are favored by women

There are lists of motorcycles which are popular among women

It is always to do proper checkup for the motorcycle before you are riding it.

This practice helps you to know about any irregularity in the motorbike as gives

you time to make it right.

NSS unit of our college in collaboration with Here Moto Corp organized a safe

riding campaigning to all the volunteers (100)especially for girl volunteers. All

the volunteers provided with some knowledge about

vehicles,drivinglicence,vehicle insurance and driving. The programme started

around 2 :30pm and continued till 4:30pm. Volunteers were provided driving

tricks using vehicles and simulators

8. NSS Unit of the college conducted CAMPUS CLEANING PROGRAMME from 11th to

14th August 2015on the occasion of Independence Day.

The program aims to inculcate social welfare in students, and to provide

service to society without bias. NSS volunteers work to ensure that

everyone who is needy gets help to enhance their standard of living and

lead a life of dignity. In doing so, volunteers learn from people in villages

how to lead a good life despite a scarcity of resources. it also provides

help in natural and man-made disasters by providing food, clothing and

first aid to the disaster victims.The program started at 2:30pm and continued till

4:30pm.Entire college about 1000 students and volunteers was cleaned and

students were appreciated by Principal

9. Report on Blood Donation Camp-22nd August 2015

The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Bhavan’s Vivekananda

College conducted a blood donation camp on 22nd August 2015 in the college

premises and collected 263 blood units.

The blood which is collected is donated to the Thalassemia & Sickle Cell

Society .It is a great initiative for noble cause.

The college Director Col M.VijayaRao inaugurated the program. Students

came forward in large numbers voluntarily to donate blood. The donors were

presented with certificates.

Volunteers donated blood liberally for the people who are suffering

from Thalassemia decease. Sri JLN SastryVCM , Vice Chaiman BVC Kendra, Sri

M VijayaRao Director BVC and Prof Y Ashok , Principal BVC appreciated all the

donors.(263+100) NSS volunteers helped to conduct the program smoothly

The blood donation camp was a great success due to untiring efforts of NSS

program officer Mr.P.Srinivasa, and the student volunteers greatly contributed

for the success of the program

10. NSS volunteers helped Discipline committee for the smooth conduct of

BHAVANOSTAV 2015 held on 11th September 2015. NSS volunteers(20) helped in

controlling the discipline of the students throughout the program. Volunteers helped

in arrangements, ID verification, two wheeler parking etc.

Report on ANNADANAM-17th September 2015

NSSvolunteers (50) helped in smooth organizing of ANNADANAM at BharatiyaVidyaBhnavan’sSainikpuri Kendra on the occasion of Ganesh Navaratri on 17th September 2015. All the local devotees about 1500 people were participated. Here Volunteers were divided into 4 groups which consist of discipline of the people, food serving, food cooking, and water distribution

11. NSS volunteers along with P.O attended State Level NSS Awards 2014-15

functions on 24th September, 2015 at Tagore Auditorium, Osmania University,

Hyderabad. Sri Jagadeshreddy, Minister, Govt.ofTelangana was the chief guest of the

program. Best NSS PO, Best NSS Volunteer were awarded with memento

12.Telangana State NSS Cell &Higher Education Dept.,- Celebrated Gandhi Jayanthi

as Promotion of Khadi Day on 2nd October, 2015 at Peoples Plaza and unveiled 4.5

k.m. Indian National Flag made of Khadi.It is recorded as the biggest National Flag

by Asian Book of Records. 42 NSS volunteers participated from Bhavanscollege

13 .Mr.N.Sharath of B.com computers IInd year was selected for

State Level NSS Mega Camp –2015 at Kakatiya University, Warangal from 6th to

10th November, 2015 .

Report on Gender Issues

Voice for girls(1st December -18th December 2015)

Voice for girls -It is a activity-based camp, in which, girls will be provided the

life skills, spoken English, and critical information she needs to take charge of

her own life and be a change maker in the lives of others .it was from 1stdec to

18th dec2015 . Six(6) volunteers participated in the camp
